బారూకు యెహోవా మందిరములో లేఖికుడైన షాఫాను కుమారుడైన గెమర్యా గదికి పైగానున్న శాలలో యెహోవా మందిరపు క్రొత్త ద్వారపు ప్రవేశమున ప్రజలందరు వినునట్లు యిర్మీయా చెప్పిన మాటలను గ్రంథములోనుండి చదివి వినిపించెను.

కాబట్టి నీవు వెళ్లి ఉపవాసదినమున యెహోవా మందిరములో ప్రజలకు వినబడునట్లు నేను చెప్పగా నీవు పుస్తకములో వ్రాసిన యెహోవా మాటలను చదివి వినిపించుము, తమ పట్టణములనుండి వచ్చు యూదా జనులందరికిని వినబడు నట్లుగా వాటిని చదివి వినిపింపవలెను.
