Isaiah 44
1 అయినను నా సేవకుడవగు యాకోబూ, నేను ఏర్పరచుకొనిన ఇశ్రాయేలూ, వినుము
2 నిన్ను సృష్టించి గర్భములో నిన్ను నిర్మించి నీకు సహాయము చేయువాడైన యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు నా సేవకుడవగు యాకోబూ, నేను ఏర్పరచుకొనిన యెషూరూనూ, భయపడకుము.
3 నేను దప్పిగలవానిమీద నీళ్లను ఎండిన భూమిమీద ప్రవాహజలములను కుమ్మరించెదను నీ సంతతిమీద నా ఆత్మను కుమ్మరించెదను నీకు పుట్టినవారిని నేనాశీర్వదించెదను.
4 నీటికాలువలయొద్ద నాటబడిన నిరవంజిచెట్లు గడ్డిలో ఎదుగునట్లు వారు ఎదుగుదురు.
5 ఒకడునేను యెహోవావాడననును, మరియొకడు యాకోబు పేరు చెప్పుకొనును, మరియొకడు యెహోవావాడనని తన చేతితో వ్రాసి ఇశ్రాయేలను మారుపేరు పెట్టుకొనును.
6 ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల రాజైన యెహోవా వారి విమోచకుడైన సైన్యములకధిపతియగు యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు నేను మొదటివాడను కడపటివాడను నేను తప్ప ఏ దేవుడును లేడు.
7 ఆదిలోనున్న జనమును నియమించినది మొదలుకొని నేను తెలియజేయుచు వచ్చినట్లు తెలియజేయగల వాడెవడు? అట్టివాడెక్కడైన నుండినయెడల నాకు తెలియజెప్ప వలెను ఆ సంగతి నాకు ప్రచురింపవలెను అట్టివారు భవిష్యద్విషయమును రాబోవు సంగతులను తెలియజెప్పువారై యుండవలెను.
8 మీరు వెరవకుడి భయపడకుడి పూర్వకాలమునుండి నేను నీకు ఆ సంగతి వినిపించి తెలియజేయలేదా? మీరే నాకు సాక్షులు, నేను తప్ప వేరొక దేవు డున్నాడా? నేను తప్ప ఆశ్రయ దుర్గమేదియు లేదు, ఉన్నట్టు నే నెరుగను.
9 విగ్రహమును నిర్మించువారందరు మాయవంటివారు వారికిష్టమైన విగ్రహములు నిష్‌ప్రయోజనములు తామే అందుకు సాక్షులు, వారు గ్రహించువారు కారు ఎరుగువారు కారు గనుక వారు సిగ్గుపడరు.
10 ఎందుకును పనికిరాని విగ్రహమును పోతపోసి దాని నొక దేవునిగా నిరూపించువాడెవడు?
11 ఇదిగో దాని పూజించువారందరు సిగ్గుపడుదురు ఆ శిల్పకారులు నరమాత్రులేగదా? వారందరు పోగు చేయబడి నిలువబడవలెను నిశ్చయముగా వారు భయపడి సిగ్గుపడుదురు.
12 కమ్మరి గొడ్డలి పదును చేయుచు నిప్పులతో పని చేయును సుత్తెతో దానిని రూపించి తన బాహుబలముచేత దాని చేయును. అతడు ఆకలిగొనగా అతని బలము క్షీణించిపోవును నీళ్లు త్రాగక సొమ్మసిల్లును
13 వడ్లవాడు నూలు వేసి చీర్ణముతో గీత గీచి చిత్రిక లతో దాని చక్కచేయును కర్కాటకములతో గురుతుపెట్టి దాని రూపించును మందిరములో దాని స్థాపింపవలెనని నరరూపముగల దానిగాను నరసౌందర్యముగలదానిగాను చేయును.
14 ఒకడు దేవదారుచెట్లను నరుకవలెనని పూనుకొనును శ్మశానావృక్షమును గాని సరళవృక్షమును గాని సింధూరవృక్షములనుగాని అడవి వృక్షములలో ఏదో ఒకదానిని తీసికొనును ఒకడు చెట్టు నాటగా వర్షము దాని పెంచును
15 ఒకడు పొయ్యికట్టెలకు వాటి నుపయోగించును వాటిలో కొంతతీసికొని చలి కాచుకొనును నిప్పు రాజబెట్టి రొట్టె కాల్చుకొనును ఒక తుండు తీసికొని దానితో ఒక దేవతను చేసికొనును దానికి నమస్కారము చేయును దానితో ఒక విగ్రహముచేసి దానికి సాగిలపడును.
16 అగ్నితో సగము కాల్చియున్నాడు, కొదువ సగ ముతో మాంసము వండి భక్షించియున్నాడు తిని తృప్తిపొందగా చలి కాచుకొనుచు ఆహా, చలికాచుకొంటిని వెచ్చగా ఉన్నది అని అను కొనుచున్నాడు
17 దానిలో మిగిలిన భాగముతో తనకు దేవతగానున్న విగ్రహమును చేయించుకొనును దానియెదుట సాగిలపడుచు నమస్కారము చేయుచు నీవే నా దేవుడవు నన్ను రక్షింపుమని ప్రార్థించును.
18 వారు వివేచింపరు గ్రహింపరు చూడకుండునట్లు వారి కన్నులు కప్పబడెను గ్రహింపకుండునట్లు వారి హృదయములు మూయ బడెను.
19 ఎవడును ఆలోచనచేయడు, నేను అగ్నిలో సగము కాల్చితిని నిప్పులమీద వేసి రొట్టె కాల్చితిని దానితో మాంసము వండుకొని భోజనము చేసితిని మిగిలినదానిని తీసికొని దానితో హేయమైనదాని చేయుదునా? చెట్టు మొద్దుకు సాష్టాంగపడుదునా? అని యెవడును ఆలోచింపడు యోచించుటకు ఎవనికిని తెలివిలేదు వివేచనలేదు.
20 వాడు బూడిదె తినుచున్నాడు, వాని మనస్సు మోసపోయినదై తప్పుదారిని వాని తీసికొనిపోవు చున్నది వాడు తన ఆత్మను రక్షించుకొనజాలడనియు నా కుడిచేతిలో అబద్ధమున్నది గదా అనియు అను కొనుటకు వానికి బుద్ధి చాలదు.
21 యాకోబూ, ఇశ్రాయేలూ; వీటిని జ్ఞాపకము చేసికొనుము నీవు నా సేవకుడవు నేను నిన్ను నిర్మించితిని ఇశ్రాయేలూ, నీవు నాకు సేవకుడవై యున్నావు నేను నిన్ను మరచిపోజాలను.
22 మంచు విడిపోవునట్లుగా నేను నీ యతిక్రమములను మబ్బు తొలగునట్లుగా నీ పాపములను తుడిచివేసి యున్నాను నేను నిన్ను విమోచించియున్నాను, నాయొద్దకు మళ్లుకొనుము.
23 యెహోవా ఆ కార్యమును సమాప్తి చేసియున్నాడు ఆకాశములారా, ఉత్సాహధ్వని చేయుడి భూమి అగాధస్థలములారా, ఆర్భాటము చేయుడి పర్వతములారా, అరణ్యమా, అందులోని ప్రతి వృక్షమా, సంగీతనాదము చేయుడి.యెహోవా యాకోబును విమోచించునుఆయన ఇశ్రాయేలులో తన్నుతాను మహిమోన్నతునిగా కనుపరచుకొనును
24 గర్భమునుండి నిన్ను నిర్మించిన నీ విమోచకుడగు యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు యెహోవానగు నేనే సమస్తమును జరిగించువాడను నేనొకడనే ఆకాశమును విశాలపరచినవాడను నేనే భూమిని పరచినవాడను
25 నేనే ప్రగల్భుల ప్రవచనములను వ్యర్థము చేయు వాడను సోదెకాండ్రను వెఱ్ఱివారినిగా చేయువాడను జ్ఞానులను వెనుకకు త్రిప్పి వారి విద్యను అవిద్యగా చేయువాడను నేనే.
26 నేనే నా సేవకుని మాట రూఢిపరచువాడను నా దూతల ఆలోచన నెరవేర్చువాడను యెరూషలేము నివాసస్థలమగుననియు యూదా నగరులనుగూర్చి అవి కట్టబడుననియు నేను ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చియున్నాను, దాని పాడైన స్థలములను బాగుచేయువాడను నేనే.
27 నేనే నీ నదులను ఎండచేయుచున్నాను ఎండిపొమ్మని ప్రవాహముతో నేనే చెప్పుచున్నాను
28 కోరెషుతో నా మందకాపరీ, నా చిత్తమంతయు నెరవేర్చువాడా, అని చెప్పువాడను నేనే. యెరూషలేముతోనీవు కట్టబడుదువనియు దేవాలయ మునకు పునాదివేయబడుననియు నేను చెప్పు చున్నాను.
1 Yet now hear, O Jacob my servant; and Israel, whom I have chosen:
2 Thus saith the Lord that made thee, and formed thee from the womb, which will help thee; Fear not, O Jacob, my servant; and thou, Jesurun, whom I have chosen.
3 For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:
4 And they shall spring up as among the grass, as willows by the water courses.
5 One shall say, I am the Lord’s; and another shall call himself by the name of Jacob; and another shall subscribe with his hand unto the Lord, and surname himself by the name of Israel.
6 Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.
7 And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order for me, since I appointed the ancient people? and the things that are coming, and shall come, let them shew unto them.
8 Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.
9 They that make a graven image are all of them vanity; and their delectable things shall not profit; and they are their own witnesses; they see not, nor know; that they may be ashamed.
10 Who hath formed a god, or molten a graven image that is profitable for nothing?
11 Behold, all his fellows shall be ashamed: and the workmen, they are of men: let them all be gathered together, let them stand up; yet they shall fear, and they shall be ashamed together.
12 The smith with the tongs both worketh in the coals, and fashioneth it with hammers, and worketh it with the strength of his arms: yea, he is hungry, and his strength faileth: he drinketh no water, and is faint.
13 The carpenter stretcheth out his rule; he marketh it out with a line; he fitteth it with planes, and he marketh it out with the compass, and maketh it after the figure of a man, according to the beauty of a man; that it may remain in the house.
14 He heweth him down cedars, and taketh the cypress and the oak, which he strengtheneth for himself among the trees of the forest: he planteth an ash, and the rain doth nourish it.
15 Then shall it be for a man to burn: for he will take thereof, and warm himself; yea, he kindleth it, and baketh bread; yea, he maketh a god, and worshippeth it; he maketh it a graven image, and falleth down thereto.
16 He burneth part thereof in the fire; with part thereof he eateth flesh; he roasteth roast, and is satisfied: yea, he warmeth himself, and saith, Aha, I am warm, I have seen the fire:
17 And the residue thereof he maketh a god, even his graven image: he falleth down unto it, and worshippeth it, and prayeth unto it, and saith, Deliver me; for thou art my god.
18 They have not known nor understood: for he hath shut their eyes, that they cannot see; and their hearts, that they cannot understand.
19 And none considereth in his heart, neither is there knowledge nor understanding to say, I have burned part of it in the fire; yea, also I have baked bread upon the coals thereof; I have roasted flesh, and eaten it: and shall I make the residue thereof an abomination? shall I fall down to the stock of a tree?
20 He feedeth on ashes: a deceived heart hath turned him aside, that he cannot deliver his soul, nor say, Is there not a lie in my right hand?
21 Remember these, O Jacob and Israel; for thou art my servant: I have formed thee; thou art my servant: O Israel, thou shalt not be forgotten of me.
22 I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.
23 Sing, O ye heavens; for the Lord hath done it: shout, ye lower parts of the earth: break forth into singing, ye mountains, O forest, and every tree therein: for the Lord hath redeemed Jacob, and glorified himself in Israel.
24 Thus saith the Lord, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the Lord that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;
25 That frustrateth the tokens of the liars, and maketh diviners mad; that turneth wise men backward, and maketh their knowledge foolish;
26 That confirmeth the word of his servant, and performeth the counsel of his messengers; that saith to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be inhabited; and to the cities of Judah, Ye shall be built, and I will raise up the decayed places thereof:
27 That saith to the deep, Be dry, and I will dry up thy rivers:
28 That saith of Cyrus, He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid.
1 If thou wilt return, O Israel, saith the Lord, return unto me: and if thou wilt put away thine abominations out of my sight, then shalt thou not remove.
2 And thou shalt swear, The Lord liveth, in truth, in judgment, and in righteousness; and the nations shall bless themselves in him, and in him shall they glory.
3 For thus saith the Lord to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.
4 Circumcise yourselves to the Lord, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.
5 Declare ye in Judah, and publish in Jerusalem; and say, Blow ye the trumpet in the land: cry, gather together, and say, Assemble yourselves, and let us go into the defenced cities.
6 Set up the standard toward Zion: retire, stay not: for I will bring evil from the north, and a great destruction.
7 The lion is come up from his thicket, and the destroyer of the Gentiles is on his way; he is gone forth from his place to make thy land desolate; and thy cities shall be laid waste, without an inhabitant.
8 For this gird you with sackcloth, lament and howl: for the fierce anger of the Lord is not turned back from us.
9 And it shall come to pass at that day, saith the Lord, that the heart of the king shall perish, and the heart of the princes; and the priests shall be astonished, and the prophets shall wonder.
10 Then said I, Ah, Lord God! surely thou hast greatly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall have peace; whereas the sword reacheth unto the soul.
11 At that time shall it be said to this people and to Jerusalem, A dry wind of the high places in the wilderness toward the daughter of my people, not to fan, nor to cleanse,
12 Even a full wind from those places shall come unto me: now also will I give sentence against them.
13 Behold, he shall come up as clouds, and his chariots shall be as a whirlwind: his horses are swifter than eagles. Woe unto us! for we are spoiled.
14 O Jerusalem, wash thine heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved. How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee?
15 For a voice declareth from Dan, and publisheth affliction from mount Ephraim.
16 Make ye mention to the nations; behold, publish against Jerusalem, that watchers come from a far country, and give out their voice against the cities of Judah.
17 As keepers of a field, are they against her round about; because she hath been rebellious against me, saith the Lord.
18 Thy way and thy doings have procured these things unto thee; this is thy wickedness, because it is bitter, because it reacheth unto thine heart.
19 My bowels, my bowels! I am pained at my very heart; my heart maketh a noise in me; I cannot hold my peace, because thou hast heard, O my soul, the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war.
20 Destruction upon destruction is cried; for the whole land is spoiled: suddenly are my tents spoiled, and my curtains in a moment.
21 How long shall I see the standard, and hear the sound of the trumpet?
22 For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.
23 I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.
24 I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly.
25 I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled.
26 I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the Lord, and by his fierce anger.
27 For thus hath the Lord said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end.
28 For this shall the earth mourn, and the heavens above be black: because I have spoken it, I have purposed it, and will not repent, neither will I turn back from it.
29 The whole city shall flee for the noise of the horsemen and bowmen; they shall go into thickets, and climb up upon the rocks: every city shall be forsaken, and not a man dwell therein.
30 And when thou art spoiled, what wilt thou do? Though thou clothest thyself with crimson, though thou deckest thee with ornaments of gold, though thou rentest thy face with painting, in vain shalt thou make thyself fair; thy lovers will despise thee, they will seek thy life.
31 For I have heard a voice as of a woman in travail, and the anguish as of her that bringeth forth her first child, the voice of the daughter of Zion, that bewaileth herself, that spreadeth her hands, saying, Woe is me now! for my soul is wearied because of murderers.
