Ezekiel 4:16
నరపుత్రుడా, ఇదిగో యెరూషలేములో రొట్టెయను ఆధారమును నేను లేకుండ చేసినందున వారు తూనికె ప్రకారముగా బహు చింతతో రొట్టె భుజింతురు, నీళ్లు కొలచొప్పున త్రాగుచు విస్మయ మొందుదురు.
0 A Song of degrees for Solomon.
1 Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.
3 Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

| the staff | מַטֵּה | maṭṭē | ma-TAY |
| of bread | לֶ֙חֶם֙ | leḥem | LEH-HEM |
| in Jerusalem: | בִּיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם | bîrûšālaim | bee-ROO-sha-la-EEM |
| eat shall they and | וְאָכְלוּ | wĕʾoklû | veh-oke-LOO |
| bread | לֶ֥חֶם | leḥem | LEH-hem |
| by weight, | בְּמִשְׁקָ֖ל | bĕmišqāl | beh-meesh-KAHL |
| care; with and | וּבִדְאָגָ֑ה | ûbidʾāgâ | oo-veed-ah-ɡA |
| drink shall they and | וּמַ֕יִם | ûmayim | oo-MA-yeem |
| water | בִּמְשׂוּרָ֥ה | bimśûrâ | beem-soo-RA |
| by measure, | וּבְשִׁמָּמ֖וֹן | ûbĕšimmāmôn | oo-veh-shee-ma-MONE |
| and with astonishment: | יִשְׁתּֽוּ׃ | yištû | yeesh-TOO |
