యూదారాజును యోషీయా కుమారుడునైన యెహోయాకీము ఏలుబడియందు నాలుగవ సంవత్సరమున యిర్మీయా నోటిమాటనుబట్టి నేరీయా కుమారుడగు బారూకు గ్రంథములో ఈ మాటలు వ్రాయుచున్నప్పుడు ప్రవక్త యైన యిర్మీయా అతనితో చెప్పినది

యిర్మీయా యింకొక గ్రంథమును తీసికొని లేఖికుడగు నేరియా కుమారుడైన బారూకుచేతికి అప్పగింపగా అతడు యిర్మీయా నోటిమాటలను బట్టి యూదారాజైన యెహోయాకీము అగ్నిలో కాల్చిన గ్రంథపు మాటలన్నిటిని వ్రాసెను; మరియు ఆ మాటలు గాక అట్టివి అనేకములు అతడు వాటితో కూర్చెను.

ప్రధానులందరు కూషీకి ఇనుమనుమడును షెలె మ్యాకు మనుమడును నెతన్యాకు కుమారుడునైన యెహూ దిని బారూకు నొద్దకు పంపినీవు ప్రజల వినికిడిలో చది విన పుస్తకమును చేత పట్టుకొని రమ్మని ఆజ్ఞ నియ్యగా నేరీయా కుమారుడగు బారూకు ఆ గ్రంథమును చేత పట్టుకొని వచ్చెను.
