అంతట ఇశ్రాయేలువారి గోత్రములకు చేరికైన జనులందరు ఇట్లనుకొనిరిమన శత్రువుల చేతిలోనుండియు, ఫిలిష్తీయుల చేతిలోనుండియు మనలను విడిపించిన రాజు అబ్షాలోమునకు భయపడి దేశములోనుండి పారిపోయెను.
