ఇశ్రాయేలీయులలో మూడు వేలమందిని ఏర్పరచు కొనెను. వీరిలో రెండు వేలమంది మిక్మషులోను బేతేలు కొండలోను సౌలునొద్దనుండిరి; వెయ్యిమంది బెన్యామీనీయుల గిబియాలో యోనాతాను నొద్దనుండిరి; మిగిలినవారిని అతడు వారి వారి డేరాలకు పంపివేసెను.
