ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਕੰਮ, ਜੋ ਉਹ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਸੱਤਵੇਂ ਦਿਨ ਅਰਾਮ ਕੀਤਾ।

ਪੋਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਜਗ਼੍ਹਾ, ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਹਫ਼ਤੇ ਦੇ ਸੱਤਵੇਂ ਦਿਨ ਬਾਰੇ ਇਹ ਬੋਲਿਆ ਸੀ; “ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਤਵੇਂ ਦਿਨ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਰਾਮ ਕੀਤਾ।”
ਅਸਤਸਨਾ 5:14
ਪਰ ਸੱਤਵਾਂ ਦਿਨ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਸੱਨਮਾਣ ਵਜੋਂ ਆਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਦਿਨ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਦਿਨ, ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰੇਗਾ-ਨਾ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਾ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਧੀਆਂ, ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਗੁਲਾਮ। ਤੁਹਾਡੀਆਂ ਗਾਵਾਂ, ਖੋਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਜਾਨਵਰ ਵੀ ਕੋਈ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਗੇ! ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਗੁਲਾਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ, ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਆਰਾਮ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਮਿਲਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।

“ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸਬਤ ਨੂੰ, ਇੱਕ ਖਾਸ ਦਿਨ ਵਜੋਂ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।

“ਛੇ ਦਿਨ ਕੰਮ ਕਰੋ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਸੱਤਵੇ ਦਿਨ ਛੁੱਟੀ ਕਰੋ। ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਗੁਲਾਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਕਾਮਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਰਾਮ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਸਤਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਬਲਦਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਖੋਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਅਰਾਮ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਮਿਲੇਗਾ।

ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਤੱਕਿਆ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਜੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਬਹੁਤ ਚੰਗਾ ਸੀ। ਸ਼ਾਮ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਸਵੇਰ ਹੋਈ। ਇਹ ਛੇਵਾਂ ਦਿਨ ਸੀ।
ਯਸਈਆਹ 58:13
ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਓਦੋਁ ਵਾਪਰੇਗੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਬਾਤ ਬਾਰੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਨਾ ਛੱਡ ਦਿਓਗੇ। ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਓਦੋਁ ਵਾਪਰੇਗਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਖਾਸ ਦਿਹਾੜੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨੇ ਛੱਡ ਦਿਓਗੇ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਬਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨਤਾ ਦਾ ਦਿਨ ਆਖੋ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਖਾਸ ਦਿਨ ਦਾ ਆਦਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦਿਨ ਦਾ ਆਦਰ ਉਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਜਾਂ ਆਖ ਕੇ ਕਰੋ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ।
ਯੂਹੰਨਾ 5:17
ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।”
