Psalm 81:16
ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਤਮ ਕਣਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ। ਚੱਟਾਨ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇਵੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਉਹ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤ ਨਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ।”

ਇਸ ਲਈ ਸੱਤਵੇਂ ਦਿਨ ਸੂਰਜ ਛਿਪਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ-ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਕੋਲ ਉੱਤਰ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਸਮਸੂਨ ਕੋਲ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਸ਼ਹਿਦ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਮਿਠਾ ਕੀ ਹੈ? ਸ਼ੇਰ ਨਾਲੋ ਤਕੜਾ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ?” ਤਾਂ ਸਮਸੂਨ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੱਲ ਨਾ ਵਾਹਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਬੁਝਾਰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਬੁੱਝ ਸੱਕਦੇ!”

ਲੜਾਈ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਲੋਕ ਕਿਸੇ ਜੰਗਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੁਕ ਗਏ ਤਾਂ ਉੱਥੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਦ ਚਿਉਂਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਵੇਖਿਆ। ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਸ਼ਹਿਦ ਤੀਕ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਤੱਕ ਨਾ ਲਾਇਆ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਸੌਂਹ ਟੁੱਟਣ ਤੋਂ ਡਰਦੇ ਸਨ।
