ਯੋਯਾਕੀਮ ਦੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਇਹ ਆਗੂ ਸਨ: ਸ਼ਰਯਾਹ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਦਾ ਆਗੂ ਮਿਰਾਯਾਹ ਸੀ। ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਵੰਸ਼ ਦਾ ਆਗੂ ਹਨਨਯਾਹ ਸੀ।

ਉਹ ਲੇਵੀ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਕਿ ਗਵੈਯੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀਏ ਸਨ ਉਹ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਮਰੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਬਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ, ਉੱਥੇ ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਿਨ-ਰਾਤ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚਲੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ’ਚ ਰੁਝੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ।

ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਲੇਵੀ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਦੇ ਆਗੂ ਹੋ, ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਕੀ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਫ਼ੇਰ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਮੈਂ ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਲਈ ਬਣਾਈ ਹੈ, ਸੰਦੂਕ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਥੇ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਓ।

ਸ਼ਮਅਯਾਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਕੱਤਰ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਨਥਨਿਏਲ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ। ਸ਼ਮਅਯਾਹ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੰਸ਼ਜਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਲਿਖਣ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਜ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਉਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਆਗੂ ਸਨ: ਸਾਦੋਕ ਜਾਜਕ, ਅਹੀਮਲਕ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਦੇ ਆਗੂ ਸਨ। ਅਹੀਮਲਕ ਅਬਯਾਥਾਰ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ। ਹਰ ਵਾਰ ਗੁਣਾ ਸੁੱਟ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਮਅਯਾਹ ਲਿਖਾਰੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਉਂ ਲਿਖ ਦਿੰਦਾ। ਇਉਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਲਆਜ਼ਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਈਥਾਮਾਰ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਵੰਡੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ।

ਅਲਯਾਸ਼ੀਬ, ਯੋਯਾਦਆ, ਯੋਹਾਨਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਯਦ੍ਦੂਆ ਦੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਫਾਰਸੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦਾਰਾ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਾਸਨਕਾਲ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਲਿਖੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ।
