ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਪਸੰਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜਾਓ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਲਈ ਪੁਕਾਰੋ। ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਦਿਉ।”

ਦੁਪਹਿਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਏਲੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਖੌਲ ਉਡਾਉਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਜੇਕਰ ਬਆਲ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੁਲਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ! ਕੀ ਪਤਾ ਉਹ ਕੁਝ ਸੋਚ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਜਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੰਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੁਝਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ? ਜਾਂ ਉਹ ਕਿਤੇ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੋਵੇ! ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸੌਂ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੋਵੇ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੋਲ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਗਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ!”

ਤਾਂ ਅਲੀਸ਼ਾ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਲਈ ਕਿਉਂ ਆਇਆ ਹੈਂ? ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਪਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਕੋਲ ਜਾ।” ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਅਲੀਸ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਨਹੀਂ! ਅਸੀਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਲਈ ਆਏ ਹਾਂ, ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਆਬ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੀਂ ਫ਼ੜਵਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਇਕੱਠਿਆਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।”

ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਮਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਲੇਖਾ ਦੇਣਾ ਪਵੇਗਾ। ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕੀ ਕਰੋਗੇ? ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਤਬਾਹੀ ਦੂਰ ਦੁਰਾਡੇ ਦੇਸ਼ੋਁ ਆ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਲਈ ਕਿੱਥੋ ਭੱਜੋਗੇ। ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਧਨ ਦੌਲਤ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰੇਗਾ।
ਯਰਮਿਆਹ 2:28
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੁੱਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਕੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਦਿਓ। ਉਹ ਬੁੱਤ ਕਿੱਥੋ ਨੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਸਾਜੇ ਨੇ? ਆਓ ਦੇਖੀਏ ਕੀ ਉਹ ਬੁੱਤ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਨੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਉਂਦੇ ਨੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋ। ਯਹੂਦਾਹ, ਤੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਜਿੰਨੇ ਹੀ ਬੁੱਤ ਨੇ!
