Jeremiah 8:15
ਅਸੀਂ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਅਜੇ ਤੀਕ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਚੰਗਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਾਪਰਿਆ। ਸਾਨੂੰ ਉਮੀਦ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ, ਪਰ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਤਬਾਹੀ ਹੀ ਆਈ।

ਯਰਮਿਆਹ 4:10
ਫ਼ੇਰ ਮੈਂ, ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੇਰੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਧੋਖਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ, ‘ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਮਿਲੇਗੀ।’ ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਲਟਕ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।”
ਯਰਮਿਆਹ 8:11
ਮੇਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜ਼ਖਮ ਮਿਲੇ ਨੇ, ਨਬੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜ਼ਖਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੱਲ੍ਹਮ ਪੱਟੀ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜ਼ਖਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਲਾਜ਼ ਕਰਦੇ ਨੇ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਮਮੂਲੀ ਝਰੀਟਾਂ ਹੀ ਹੋਣ। ਉਹ ਆਖਦੇ ਨੇ, “ਇਹ ਠੀਕ-ਠਾਕ ਹੈ, ਹਰ ਚੀਜ਼ ਬਹੁਤ ਚੰਗੀ ਹੈ!” ਪਰ ਅਸਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਠੀਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ!
ਮੀਕਾਹ 1:12
ਮਾਰੋਬ ਦੇ ਵਾਸੀ ਖੁਸ਼ਖਬਰੀ ਦੇ ਇੰਤਜ਼ਾਰ ’ਚ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਭੇਜੀ ਗਈ ਦੁਰਘਟਨਾ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਫ਼ਾਟਕ ਤੀਕ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਈ ਹੈ।

ਲੋਕੀ ਕਹਿਣਗੇ, “ਅਸੀਂ ਅਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਹਾਂ।” ਉਸੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਤੇਜੀ ਨਾਲ ਤਬਾਹੀ ਆ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਇਹ ਤਬਾਹੀ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਵੇਗੀ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਬੱਚੇ ਦੇ ਜੰਮਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਪੀੜਾਂ ਸਹਿਣੀਆਂ ਪੈਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਲੋਕੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਚਣਗੇ।
