ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, “ਕਿਉਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਂਦੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ? ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਭੇਡੂਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਟੇ-ਤਾਜ਼ੇ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਾਫੀ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਹ੍ਹਾਂ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੀਆਂ ਬੱਕਰੀਆਂ, ਬਲਦਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਭੇਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਖੂਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦੀ।

ਯਰਮਿਆਹ 6:20
ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸ਼ਬਾ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਧੂਫ਼ ਕਿਉਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹੋ? ਤੁਸੀਂ ਦੂਰ-ਦੁਰਾਡੇ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਗੰਨੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹੋ? ਤੁਹਾਡੀਆਂ ਹੋਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਭੇਟਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੰਦੀਆਂ। ਤੁਹਾਡੀਆਂ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ।”
ਜ਼ਬੂਰ 50:8
ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੀਆਂ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਸ਼ਿਕਵਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਹਰ ਸਮੇਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਬਲੀ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਵੇ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹੋ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹੋ।

ਪਰ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਭਲਾ ਇਹ ਦੱਸ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਹੋਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਭੇਟਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਲਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਉੱਪਰ ਕਿ ਉਸਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ? ਵੇਖ! ਮੰਨਣਾ ਭੇਟਾ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਣ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਰੋਤਾ ਬਨਣਾ ਭੇਡੇ ਦੀ ਚਰਬੀ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਣ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਕਿਤੇ ਵੱਧ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਮੋਸ 5:21
ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਦ ਕਰਨਾ “ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਰਬਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੀਆਂ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਸਭਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਾਣਦਾ।

ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਬਲੀ ਲਈ ਬਲਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਨੇ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਕੱਟਦੇ ਨੇ। ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਬਲੀ ਲਈ ਭੇਡਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਨੇ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਕੁਤਿਆਂ ਦ੍ਦੀਆਂ ਵੀ ਗਰਦਨਾਂ ਤੋਂੜਦੇ ਨੇ! ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਅਨਾਜ ਦੀ ਭੇਟ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਂਦੇ ਨੇ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਸੂਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਖੂਨ ਵੀ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਂਦੇ ਨੇ। ਉਹ ਧੂਫ਼ ਧੁਖਾਉਂਦੇ ਨੇ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਨਿਕੰਮੀਆਂ ਮੂਰਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਨੇ। ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਚੁਣਦੇ ਨੇ। ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਬੁੱਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਨੇ।

ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਭੇਟਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਇਮਾਨਦਾਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸਾ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕਰਦਾ।
ਮੀਕਾਹ 6:7
ਕੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ 10,000 ਭੇਡੂਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਂ ਤੇਲ ਦੇ ਦਸ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਦਰਿਆਵਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ? ਕੀ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਪਰਾਧਾਂ ਲਈ ਆਪਣਾ ਪਹਿਲੋਠਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਰਪਣ ਕਰਾਂ? ਕੀ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਲਈ ਭੇਟ ਕਰਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਖੁਦ ਦੀ ਕੁੱਖੋਂ ਜੰਮਿਆ?

ਅਸਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੀਦੀਆਂ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਣੀਆਂ ਚਾਹੀਦੀਆਂ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਚਾਹੀਦੀਆਂ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ।
ਯਰਮਿਆਹ 7:21
ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਬਲੀ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਧੇਰੇ ਆਗਿਆਕਰਤਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, “ਜਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਜਿੰਨੀਆਂ ਮਰਜ਼ੀ ਹੋਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਭੇਟਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਓ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਸ ਖੁਦ ਖਾਓ।
