Genesis 16:11
ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਦੂਤ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਹਾਜਰਾ, ਤੂੰ ਹੁਣ ਗਰਭਵਤੀ ਹੈਂ ਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦੇਵੇਂਗੀ। ਤੂੰ ਉਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਇਸਮਾਏਲ ਰੱਖੀਂ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਸੁਣ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਬੁਰਾ ਸਲੂਕ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰੇਗਾ।

ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਮਾਂ ਬੀਤ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਸਰ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ। ਪਰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਲੇ ਵੀ ਸਖਤ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਲਈ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਸੁਣ ਲਈ।

ਕਿਉਂ? ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸੰਕਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ਰਮਸਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਲੋਕੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵਲੋ ਮਦਦ ਲਈ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਕਰਨਗੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੁੱਪੇਗਾ।

ਤਾਂ ਇੰਝ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਹੰਨਾਹ ਗਰਭਵਤੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸੇ ਸਾਲ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਇੱਕ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਹੰਨਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਰੱਖਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮੈਂ ਇਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਮੰਗਕੇ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।”

ਮੈਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਸੁਣ ਲਈ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਦੇਖ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮਿਸਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਜਿਉਣਾ ਹਰਾਮ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।

ਪਹਿਲੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਨਾਮ ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਮੁਸੀਬਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਦੀ ਹਰ ਗੱਲ ਭੁਲਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।”

ਲੇਆਹ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਰਊਬੇਨ ਰੱਖਿਆ। ਲੇਆਹ ਨੇ ਇਸਦਾ ਇਹ ਨਾਮ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਿਲਾਂ ਦੇਖ ਲਈਆਂ ਹਨ। ਮੇਰਾ ਪਤੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਤੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰੇ।”
ਪੈਦਾਇਸ਼ 17:19
ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਨਹੀਂ! ਮੈਂ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਸਾਰਾਹ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦੇਵੇਗੀ। ਤੂੰ ਉਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਇਸਹਾਕ ਰੱਖੀਂ। ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ। ਉਹ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਦਾ ਜਾਰੀ ਰਹੇਗਾ।

ਕੌਣ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਕਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੋਗਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਦੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਅੱਗੇ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਨੇ ਤੇ ਭੋਜਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਇੱਧਰ-ਓਧਰ ਭਟਕਦੇ ਨੇ?
