ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਅਬਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕਸਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਊਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ। ਅਜਿਹਾ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਦੇ ਸੱਕਾਂ-ਤੂੰ ਇਸ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੋਵੇਂਗਾ।”
