Ezekiel 33:13
“ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇਕ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਾਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਜੀਵੇਗਾ। ਪਰ ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਉਹ ਨੇਕ ਬੰਦਾ ਇਹ ਸੋਚਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅਤੀਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤੇ ਨੇਕ ਕੰਮ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਲੈਣਗੇ। ਇਸ ਲਈ, ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਉਹ ਮੰਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਪਵੇ। ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਅਤੀਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਨੇਕ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ! ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੰਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਾਰਣ ਮਰੇਗਾ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਉਹ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

“ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇਕ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਾਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਜੀਵੇਗਾ। ਪਰ ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਉਹ ਨੇਕ ਬੰਦਾ ਇਹ ਸੋਚਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅਤੀਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤੇ ਨੇਕ ਕੰਮ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਲੈਣਗੇ। ਇਸ ਲਈ, ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਉਹ ਮੰਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਪਵੇ। ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਅਤੀਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਨੇਕ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ! ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੰਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਾਰਣ ਮਰੇਗਾ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਉਹ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.
