Ezekiel 21:16
ਹੇ ਤਲਵਾਰ, ਤਿੱਖੀ ਹੋ ਜਾ! ਚੀਰ ਸੱਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਵੱਲ। ਚੀਰ ਸ਼ਾਹਮਣੇ ਵੱਲ, ਚੀਰ ਖੱਬੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਵੱਲ। ਹਰ ਓਸ ਥਾਂ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਧਾਰ ਤੇਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਹੁੰਚਣ ਲਈ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ!

ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਜਾਂ ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੇਸ ਨਾਲ ਲੜਨ ਲਈ ਕੋਈ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਭੇਜਾਂ। ਉਹ ਫ਼ੌਜੀ ਉਸ ਦੇਸ ਨੂੰ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਦੇਣਗੇ-ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ।

ਤੇਰੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਭੈਣ ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਵੱਲ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਧੀਆਂ (ਕਸਬਿਆਂ) ਸੰਗ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਸੀ। ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਛੋਟੀ ਭੈਣ ਸਦੂਮ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਦੱਖਣ ਵੱਲ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਧੀਆਂ (ਕਸਬਿਆਂ) ਸੰਗ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਸੀ।

ਮੈਂ ਚੰਗੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਬੁਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਟਾ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਲਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਖਣ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਤਰ ਤੱਕ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਵਰਤਾਂਗਾ।

ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਇਹ ਦਰਸਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਕਰੋ ਕਿ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਕਿਸ ਰਸਤੇ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰੇਗੀ। ਇਹ ਸੜਕ ਅੰਮੋਨੀਆਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਰੱਬਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਦੂਸਰੀ ਸੜਕ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਕਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਬੰਦ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ!
