ਤਦ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਰਾਣੀ ਅਸਤਰ ਤੂੰ ਵਿਹੜੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੜੀ ਵੇਖਿਆ। ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਕੇ ਬੜਾ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੋਇਆ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੁਨਿਹਰੀ ਰਾਜ-ਦੰਡ ਰਾਣੀ ਵੱਲ ਵੱਧਾਇਆ, ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ, ਫੇਰ ਰਾਣੀ ਕਮਰੇ ’ਚ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਕਰਕੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਆਸੇ ਦੀ ਨੋਕ ਨੂੰ ਛੂਹਿਆ।

“ਮਾਰਦਕਈ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੂਬੇ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦਾ ਪਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰਲੇ ਵਿਹੜੇ ਦੇ ਸਿੰਘਾਸਣ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਬਿਨ-ਬੁਲਾਇਆਂ ਜਾਵੇ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਮਰਦ ਹੋਵੇ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਔਰਤ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਇੱਕੋ ਹੀ ਹੁਕਮ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਨੋ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ। ਪਰ ਉਸ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਲਈ ਜਿਸ ਖਾਤਰ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੁਨਿਹਰੀ ਰਾਜ-ਦੰਡ ਫੈਲਾਵੇ-ਉਸ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦੀ ਜਾਨ ਬਚ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। 30 ਦਿਨ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਅੰਦਰ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਹੋਣ ਲਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੱਦਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ”

ਤਦ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਅਸਤਰ ਵੱਲ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੁਨਿਹਰੀ ਰਾਜ-ਦੰਡ ਵੱਧਾਇਆ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਜਾ ਖਲੋਤੀ।
ਅਮਸਾਲ 21:1
ਕਿਸਾਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਖੇਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੰਜਣ ਲਈ ਛੋਟੇ ਖਾਲ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਖਾਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਦ ਕਰਕੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਰਾਹ ਬਦਲਦੇ ਹਨ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੀ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਚਾਲਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਇਹੋ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਧਰ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੇ, ਲੈ ਜਾਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪੈਦਾਇਸ਼ 32:28
ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹੇਗਾ। ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਂ ਹੁਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਨਾਮ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਲੜਿਆ ਹੈਂ ਅਤੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਪਰ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਹਰਾਇਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸੱਕਿਆ।”

ਹੇਗਈ ਨੂੰ ਅਸਤਰ ਪਸੰਦ ਆਈ ਤੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਚਹੇਤੀ ਬਣੀ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਹੇਗਈ ਨੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ ਵੱਧਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਖਾਸ ਉਪਚਾਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਧੀਆ ਭੋਜਨ ਖਾਣ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੇ। ਹੇਗਈ ਨੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਮਹਿਲ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਅਸਤਰ ਲਈ ਸੱਤ ਗੋਲੀਆਂ ਚੁਣੀਆਂ। ਫਿਰ ਹੇਗਈ ਨੇ ਅਸਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਸੱਤ ਦਾਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਜਨਾਨਖਾਨੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧੀਆ ਥਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਠਹਿਰਾਇਆ।
ਜ਼ਬੂਰ 116:1
ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਸੰਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜਦੋਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਕੁਰਨੇਲਿਯੁਸ ਨੇ ਦੂਤ ਵੱਲ ਵੇਖਿਆ, ਉਹ ਡਰ ਕੇ ਆਖਣ ਲੱਗਾ, “ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਿਕ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕੀ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋ?” ਦੂਤ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਸੁਣ ਲਈਆਂ ਹਨ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਸਭ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵੇਖੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਗਰੀਬ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁਲਿਆ।
