ਆਸਾ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਅੰਤ ਤੀਕ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨਾਮੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਤਹਾਸ ਦੀ ਪੋਥੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।

ਤਦ ਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਨ ਨੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਹਿਲਕੀਯਾਹ ਜਾਜਕ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪੋਥੀ ਸੌਂਪੀ ਹੈ।” ਤਦ ਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਨ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਪੋਥੀ ਯੋਸੀਯਾਹ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਖੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਸੁਣਾਈ।

ਰਹਬੁਆਮ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਅਖੀਰ ਤੀਕ ਕੀਤੇ ਉਹ ਸ਼ਮਅਯਾਹ ਨਬੀ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਦੋ ਨਬੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਲਿਖਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਰਜ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਇਤਹਾਸ ਲਿਖਿਆ। ਜਿੰਨੀ ਦੇਰ ਰਹਬੁਆਮ ਅਤੇ ਯਾਰਾਬੁਆਮ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੇ, ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਲੜਦੇ ਰਹੇ।
