ਤਾਂ ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਸ਼ੀਲੋਹ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਜੇ ਗਏ, ਉਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਦਾ ਨੇਮ ਦਾ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਲੈ ਆਏ। ਸੰਦੂਕ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਰੂਬੀ ਫ਼ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਤਖਤ ਵਾਂਗ ਸੀ ਜਿਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਬੈਠਦਾ। ਏਲੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹਾਫ਼ਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ੀਨਹਾਸ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਆਏ।

ਜ਼ਬੂਰ 99:1
ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਰਾਜਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਡਰ ਨਾਲ ਕੰਬਣ ਦਿਉ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੇਜ਼ ਦੇ ਕਰੂਬੀਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਡਰ ਨਾਲ ਕੰਬਣ ਦਿਉ।
ਗਿਣਤੀ 7:89
ਮੂਸਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਮੰਡਲੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਤੰਬੂ ਕੋਲ ਗਿਆ। ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਦੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਸੁਣੀ। ਇਹ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਦੇ ਖਾਸ ਕੱਜਣ ਦੇ ਉੱਪਰੋਂ, ਕਰੂਬੀ ਫ਼ਰਿਸ਼ਤਿਆ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰਲੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਆ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ। ਇਹੀ ਤਰੀਕਾ ਸੀ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ।

ਫਿਰ ਹਿਜ਼ਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆਂ, “ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ਰ, ਕਰੂਬੀ ਫਰਿਸ਼ਤਿਆਂ ਉਪਰ ਬਿਰਾਜਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਹੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇੱਕਲਾਂ ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਹੈ। ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਅਕਾਸ਼ਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰਜਿਆਂ।

ਏਲੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਦ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਾਬੂ ਨਾ ਪਾ ਸੱਕਿਆ ਏਲੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਬੁੱਢਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਿਲੋਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਦ ਕਰਨੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਖਬਰ ਮਿਲੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮੰਡਲੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਤੰਬੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ ਦੁਆਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਸੌਁਦੇ ਸਨ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਲਈ ਭੇਟਾ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਲਈ ਇਕੱਠੀਆਂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ।

ਏਲੀ ਦੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਏਲੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਆਦਮੀ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਲਾਪਰਵਾਹੀ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਿਧੀਆਂ ਵੱਲ ਅਨਾਦਰ ਦਾ ਵਿਖਾਵਾ ਕੀਤਾ।

ਗਿਣਤੀ 4:5

ਫ਼ੇਰ ਕੁੱਟੇ ਹੋਏ ਸੋਨੇ ਦੀ ਪੱਤਰੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਦੋ ਕਰੂਬੀ ਦੂਤ ਬਣਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਢੱਕਣ ਦੇ ਹਰ ਪਾਸੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਲਾਓ।
