ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਵੀ ਬੰਦਾ ਲੁਹਾਰ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿ ਇਬਰਾਨੀ ਲੋਕ ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਛੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਬਨਾਉਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਣ।

“ਚੁਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਆਗੂ ਲੜਨ ਲਈ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ। ਮਿਲਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਢਾਲ ਜਾਂ ਨੇਜਾ ਕੋਈ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ 40,000 ਸਿਪਾਹੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ।
