ਅਦੋਨੀਯਾਹ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਨਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਦਾਊਦ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਬੁੱਢਾ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨੌਕਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਦਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਢੱਕ ਕੇ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਿੱਘ ਨਾ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਹੁੰਦਾ।

ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਉਂਤਾਂ ਹੁਣ ਦਾਊਦ ਬੁੱਢਾ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਸੀ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਠਹਿਰਾਇਆ।
ਜ਼ਬੂਰ 90:10
ਇਹ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ 70 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਜੀਵੀਏ। ਜੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਹਾਲੇ ਵੀ ਤਕੜੇ ਹਾਂ, ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਉਮਰ 80 ਸਾਲਾ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਸਾਡੀਆਂ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀਆਂ ਸਖਤ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹਨ। ਫ਼ਿਰ ਅਚਾਨਕ, ਸਾਡੀਆਂ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀਆਂ ਖਤਮ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਦੂਰ ਉੱਡ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਾਂ।

ਪਰ ਜ਼ਕਰਯਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਇਲੀਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਕੋਈ ਔਲਾਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ। ਇਲੀਸਬਤ ਬਾਂਝ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਵੱਡੀ ਉਮਰ ਦੇ ਸਨ।
ਪੈਦਾਇਸ਼ 18:11
ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰਾਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਬਿਰਧ ਸਨ। ਸਾਰਾਹ ਬੱਚੇ ਜਣਨ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਟੱਪ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਸੀ।
