Numbers 36:3
ਇਹ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਕਿ ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਪਰਿਵਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਆਦਮੀ ਸਲਾਫ਼ਹਾਦ ਦੀਆਂ ਧੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਇੱਕ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਾ ਲਵੇ। ਕੀ ਉਹ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਸਾਡੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਚਲੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ? ਕੀ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਉਸ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਬਣ ਜਾਣਗੇ? ਕੀ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਹ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਗਵਾ ਲਵਾਂਗੀਆਂ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਅਸੀਂ ਗੁਣੇ ਪਾਕੇ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ?

| be taken | נַֽחֲלָתָן֙ | naḥălātān | na-huh-la-TAHN |
| inheritance the from | מִנַּֽחֲלַ֣ת | minnaḥălat | mee-na-huh-LAHT |
| of our fathers, | אֲבֹתֵ֔ינוּ | ʾăbōtênû | uh-voh-TAY-noo |

| the inheritance | נַֽחֲלַ֣ת | naḥălat | na-huh-LAHT |

| whereunto | אֲשֶׁ֥ר | ʾăšer | uh-SHER |
| they are received: | תִּֽהְיֶ֖ינָה | tihĕyênâ | tee-heh-YAY-na |
| taken be it shall so | לָהֶ֑ם | lāhem | la-HEM |
| from the lot | וּמִגֹּרַ֥ל | ûmiggōral | oo-mee-ɡoh-RAHL |
| of our inheritance. | נַֽחֲלָתֵ֖נוּ | naḥălātēnû | na-huh-la-TAY-noo |
