ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਅਤੇ ਹਾਰੂਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਲੇਵੀ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਜਾਂ ਇਸਤੋਂ ਵਡੇਰੇ ਮੁੰਡਿਆ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਕਰਨ। ਕੁੱਲ ਗਿਣਤੀ 22,000 ਸੀ।
