Numbers 22:1
ਬਿਲਆਮ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਆਬ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਮੋਆਬ ਵਿੱਚਲੀ ਯਰਦਨ ਵਾਦੀ ਵੱਲ ਚੱਲੇ ਗਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਰੀਹੋ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਨੇੜੇ ਡੇਰਾ ਲਾਇਆ।

Deuteronomy 34:1
ਮੂਸਾ ਦਾ ਦੇਹਾਂਤ ਮੂਸਾ ਨਬੋ ਪਰਬਤ ਉੱਪਰ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਗਿਆ। ਮੂਸਾ ਮੋਆਬ ਦੀ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਪਿਸਗਾਹ ਪਰਬਤ ਦੀ ਚੋਟੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੱਲਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਹ ਥਾਂ ਯਰੀਹੋ ਤੋਂ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਦੇ ਪਾਰ ਸੀ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਲਆਦ ਤੋਂ ਦਾਨ ਤੱਕ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਦਿਖਾਈ।

ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਢਾਈ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹਾਂ ਨੇ, ਯਰੀਹੋ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਦੇ ਪੂਰਬ ਤੀਕ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਲੈ ਲਈ।”

ਅਸੀਂ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਪੱਛਮ ਵੱਲ ਕੋਈ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਵਾਂਗੇ। ਨਹੀਂ! ਸਾਡੇ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਦੇ ਪੂਰਬ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਹੀ ਹੈ।”
Joshua 3:16
ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ੌਰਨ ਹੀ, ਪਾਣੀ ਵਗਣੋ ਰੁਕ ਗਿਆ। ਪਾਣੀ ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਵਾਂਗ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਪਾਣੀ ਨਦੀ ਦੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਵੱਲ ਦੂਰ ਤੀਕ ਉੱਚਾ ਉੱਠਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ-(ਸਾਰਥਾਨ ਦੇ ਕਸਬੇ) ਆਦਮ ਤੀਕ। ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਰੀਹੋ ਦੇ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕ ਨਦੀ ਪਾਰ ਕੀਤੀ।
