ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਸਾਡੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਖਤਮ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਅਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਮੰਨ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਹੋਰ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਖਾਂਦੇ!”

ਯੋਨਾਦਾਬ ਨੇ ਅਮਨੋਨ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਤੂੰ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈਂ, ਪਰ ਕੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਦਿਨ ਬਰ ਦਿਨ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ? ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਘਰ ਖਾਣ-ਪੀਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਘਾਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ? ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਸਦੀ ਵਜਾਹ ਦੱਸ।” ਅਮਨੋਨ ਨੇ ਯੋਨਾਦਾਬ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਤਾਮਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੋਤੇਲੇ ਭਰਾ ਅਬਸ਼ਾਲੋਮ ਦੀ ਸੱਕੀ ਭੈਣ ਹੈ।”
