Nehemiah 8:8
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਬਿਵਸਬਾ ਦੀ ਪੋਥੀ ਨੂੰ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਸੁਣਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਲ ਤਰੀਕੇ ’ਚ ਉਸਦੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਸਮਝ ਸੱਕਣ। ਇਉਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਉਚਾਰਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਮਝੀ ਪੈ ਜਾਵੇ।

| and gave | וְשׂ֣וֹם | wĕśôm | veh-SOME |
| the sense, | שֶׂ֔כֶל | śekel | SEH-hel |
| understand to them caused and | וַיָּבִ֖ינוּ | wayyābînû | va-ya-VEE-noo |
| the reading. | בַּמִּקְרָֽא׃ | bammiqrāʾ | ba-meek-RA |
