ਜਦੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਮੰਦਰ ਦਾ ਪੜਦਾ ਉੱਪਰ ਤੋਂ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਦੋ ਟੁਕੜਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਟ ਗਿਆ। ਧਰਤੀ ਕੰਬ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਚੱਟਾਨਾਂ ਤਿੜਕ ਗਈਆਂ ਸਨ।
