Matthew 21
1 ਯਿਸੂ ਦਾ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਦਾਖਲਾ ਯਿਸੂ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ, ਪਰ ਰਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਜੈਤੂਨ ਦੇ ਪਹਾੜ ਉੱਤੇ, ਬੈਤਫ਼ਗਾ ਕੋਲ, ਰੁਕੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੋ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਗਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੇਜਿਆ।
2 ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਜੋ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਅੰਦਰ ਜਾਓ, ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੜਦੇ ਸਾਰ ਹੀ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇੱਕ ਗਧੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਛੋਟੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਨਾਲ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਿਆ ਪਾਵੋਂਗੇ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਕੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਲੈ ਆਵੋ।
3 ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਕੁਝ ਕਹੇ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਣਾ, ‘ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗਧਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਹ ਜਲਦੀ ਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਪਿਸ ਭੇਜ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।’”
4 ਇਹ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਨਬੀ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਬਚਨ ਪੂਰਾ ਹੋਵੇ:
5 “ਸੀਯੋਨ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸੋ, ‘ਕਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਵੱਲ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਨਿਮ੍ਰਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਗਧੀ ਉੱਤੇ, ਹਾਂ ਗਧੀ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ, ਉੱਤੇ ਬੈਠਕੇ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।’”
6 ਤਾਂ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਜਾਕੇ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਤਿਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਕੀਤਾ।
7 ਉਹ ਗਧੀ ਨੂੰ ਗਧੀ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਸਮੇਤ ਲਿਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਗਧੀ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਉਸ ਉੱਪਰ ਬੈਠ ਗਿਆ।
8 ਭੀੜ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਵਿਛਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ। ਕਈਆਂ ਨੇ ਬਿਰਛਾਂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਣੀਆਂ ਵਢੱਕੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਛਾ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ।
9 ਭੀੜ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਤੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਚਲੀ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਸੀ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਖਣ ਲੱਗੀ, “ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਉਸਤਤਿ ‘ਉਹ ਧੰਨ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ!’ ਸਵਰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਉਸਤਤਿ!”
10 ਜਦੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ, ਉਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਸ਼ਸ਼ੋਪੰਚ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਇਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ?”
11 ਯਿਸੂ ਨਾਲ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਭੀੜ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਇਹ ਯਿਸੂ ਹੈ, ਗਲੀਲ ਦੇ ਕਸਬੇ ਨਾਸਰਤ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਨਬੀ।”
12 ਯਿਸੂ ਦਾ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਣਾ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵੱਲ ਗਿਆ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਭ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਖਰੀਦ ਅਤੇ ਵੇਚ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਅਤੇ ਸਰਾਫ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਤਖਤਪੋਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਘੁੱਗੀਆਂ ਵੇਚਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੇਜ਼ਾਂ ਉਲਟਾ ਸੁੱਟੀਆਂ।
13 “ਉਸਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਇਹ ਪੋਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ, ‘ਕਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਘਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਦਾ ਘਰ ਸਦਾਵੇਗਾ’ ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਨੂੰ ਚੋਰਾ ਦੇ ਲੁਕਣ ਦੀ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਬਣਾ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ।’”
14 ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਅਤੇ ਲੰਗੜ੍ਹੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਕੋਲ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਕੀਤਾ।
15 ਜਦੋਂ ਪਰਧਾਨ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਚਰਜ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਉੱਚੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਨਾਲ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਅਤੇ “ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਉਸਤਤਿ” ਆਖਦੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਗਏ।
16 ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਸੁਣ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ ਇਹ ਬੱਚੇ ਕੀ ਆਖ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ?” ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਪੋਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੜ੍ਹਿਆ, ‘ਤੁਸੀਂ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਜੁਆਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਰਨੀ ਸਿੱਖਾਈ?’”
17 ਇਹ ਵਾਪਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਦਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਤ ਕੱਟਣ ਲਈ ਬਾਹਰ ਬੈਤਅਨੀਆ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ।
18 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਵਿਖਾਈ ਅਗਲੀ ਸਵੇਰ ਜਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵੱਲ ਮੁੜਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਭੁੱਖ ਲੱਗੀ।
19 ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੰਜੀਰ ਦਾ ਬਿਰਛ ਵੇਖਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਗਿਆ ਪਰ ਸਿਵਾਇ ਪੱਤਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਨਾ ਲੱਭਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਬਿਰਛ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ “ਅੱਜ ਤੋਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਫ਼ਲ ਨਾ ਲੱਗਣ।” ਤੁਰੰਤ ਹੀ ਰੁੱਖ ਸੁੱਕ ਗਿਆ।
20 ਚੇਲੇ ਵੇਖਕੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਅੰਜੀਰ ਦਾ ਰੁੱਖ ਇੰਨੀਂ ਛੇਤੀ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਕੁਮਲਾ ਗਿਆ?”
21 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਨਿਹਚਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕੋਈ ਭਰਮ ਨਾ ਰੱਖੋ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇਹੋ ਹੀ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ ਜੋ ਅੰਜੀਰ ਦੇ ਬਿਰਛ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਸਗੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਪਹਾੜ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਆਖ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਹੋ ਜਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਕੇ ਡਿੱਗ ਤਾਂ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੀ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
22 ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕਰੋ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮੰਗੋਂਗੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।”
23 ਯਹੂਦੀ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਤੇ ਸ਼ੱਕ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਖਲ ਹੋਇਆ, ਅਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਜਾਜਕ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਉਸ ਪਾਸੇ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਕਹਿਣ ਲੱਗੇ “ਇਹ ਸਭ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ? ਇਹ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਸਨੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ?”
24 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਮੈਂ ਵੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਸਵਾਲ ਪੁੱਛਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਰ ਦੇਵੋ ਮੈਂ ਵੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਾਂਗਾ ਕਿ ਕਿਸ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
25 ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਦਾ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਕੀ ਇਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਆਇਆ ਜਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ?” ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿੱਚਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ, ਜੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਕਹੀਏ “ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਦਾ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਸਵਰਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੀ” ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਆਖੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ?
26 ਪਰ ਜੇਕਰ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਖੀਏ, ‘ਇਹ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੀ’, ਤਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਹੋਣਗੇ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਨਬੀ ਸਮਝਦੇ ਹਨ।”
27 ਸੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਅਸੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਕਿ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ, ਕਿੱਥੋਂ ਆਈ।” ਤਾਂ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਵੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੱਸਾਂਗਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ।
28 ਯਿਸੂ ਦੋ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਂਤ ਸੁਨਾਉਂਦਾ “ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੱਸੋ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕੀ ਸੋਚਦੇ ਹੋ? ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਕੇ ਬੋਲਿਆ, ‘ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਜਾ! ਅੱਜ ਅੰਗੂਰ ਦੇ ਬਾਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ।’
29 “ਉਸਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ‘ਮੈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਵਾਂਗਾ’, ਪੁੱਤਰ ਬਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨ ਬਦਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ।
30 “ਫ਼ੇਰ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੂਜੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਕੋਲ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਉਹੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਹੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ‘ਹਾਂ ਜੀ, ਮੈਂ ਜਾਵਾਂਗਾ।’ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਨਾ ਗਿਆ।
31 “ਸੋ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕਿਸਨੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੀ ਮਰਜ਼ੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ?” ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਪਹਿਲੇ ਨੇ।” ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਮਸੂਲੀਏ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਜਰੀਆਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
32 ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਜਿਉਣ ਦਾ ਸਹੀ ਢੰਗ ਸਿੱਖਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਆਇਆ ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸਦੀ ਪਰਤੀਤ ਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਸਗੋਂ ਮਸੂਲੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਜਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਪਰਤੀਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਵੇਖਕੇ ਪਿੱਛੋਂ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਦਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ।
33 ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਆਪਣਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਭੇਜਦਾ ਹੈ “ਇੱਕ ਹੋਰ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਂਤ ਸੁਣੋ: ਇੱਕ ਜ਼ਿਮੀਦਾਰ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਅੰਗੂਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਬਾਗ ਲਾਇਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਖੇਤ ਦੇ ਚੁਫ਼ੇਰੇ ਵਾੜ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਰਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਚੁਬੱਚਾ ਕੱਢਿਆ। ਫ਼ਿਰ ਉਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਇੱਕ ਬੁਰਜ ਉਸਾਰਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਸੌਂਪਕੇ ਖੁਦ ਪਰਦੇਸ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ।
34 ਜਦੋਂ ਫ਼ਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੁੱਤ ਨੇੜੇ ਆਈ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨੋਕਰ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਗੂਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਭੇਜੇ।
35 “ਪਰ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ੜ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਟਿਆ ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੀਜੇ ਨੋਕਰ ਨੂੰ ਪੱਥਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
36 ਫ਼ੇਰ ਮਾਲਕ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਨੋਕਰ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਭੇਜੇ ਪਰ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਕੀਤਾ।
37 ਅਖੀਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਾਲਕ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਇਹ ਸੋਚਕੇ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਕਿ ‘ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦਾ ਆਦਰ ਕਰਨਗੇ।’
38 “ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਆਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੋਚਿਆ, ‘ਵਾਰਸ ਇਹੋ ਹੈ। ਅਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਈਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਿਰਸੇ ਤੇ ਕਬਜ਼ਾ ਕਰ ਲਈਏ।’
39 ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ੜ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਗ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
40 “ਤਾਂ ਜਦੋਂ ਖੇਤ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਆਵੇਗਾ, ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਕੀ ਕਰੇਗਾ?”
41 ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਦਾਇੱਕ ਮੌਤ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਖੇਤ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਸੌਂਪ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਢੀ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਉਸਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਦੇਣਗੇ।”
42 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਭਲਾ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪੋਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੜ੍ਹਿਆ: ‘ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪੱਥਰ ਰਾਜਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਨਾਮੰਜ਼ੂਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਖੂੰਜੇ ਦਾ ਸਿਰਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਪਰਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਅਚੰਭਾ ਹੈ।’
43 “ਇਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਖੋਹਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਹੀ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਨਗੇ ਜੋ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
44 ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਉਸ ਪੱਥਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਡਿੱਗੇਗਾ, ਉਹ ਚੂਰ-ਚੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਜੇਕਰ ਪੱਥਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਡਿੱਗੇਗਾ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਵੀ ਪੱਥਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕੁਚੱਲਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।”
45 ਜਦੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਆਖੇ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਂਤ ਸੁਣੇ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਜਾਣ ਗਏ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ।
46 ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਰਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਉਪਾਅ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਡਰਦੇ ਸਨ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਬੀਂ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਸਨ।
1 And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,
2 Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me.
3 And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them.
4 All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,
5 Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.
6 And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them,
7 And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon.
8 And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way.
9 And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.
10 And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this?
11 And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.
12 And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,
13 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.
14 And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them.
15 And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the Son of David; they were sore displeased,
16 And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?
17 And he left them, and went out of the city into Bethany; and he lodged there.
18 Now in the morning as he returned into the city, he hungered.
19 And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.
20 And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away!
21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.
22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
23 And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?
24 And Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one thing, which if ye tell me, I in like wise will tell you by what authority I do these things.
25 The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say unto us, Why did ye not then believe him?
26 But if we shall say, Of men; we fear the people; for all hold John as a prophet.
27 And they answered Jesus, and said, We cannot tell. And he said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.
28 But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.
29 He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.
30 And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.
31 Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.
32 For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.
33 Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country:
34 And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it.
35 And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.
36 Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise.
37 But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son.
38 But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.
39 And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him.
40 When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen?
41 They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.
42 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
45 And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spake of them.
46 But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet.

1 ਯਿਸੂ ਦੀ ਤਲਾਕ ਬਾਰੇ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਜਦੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਖ ਹਟਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਗਲੀਲ ਤੋਂ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਅਤੇ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਯਹੂਦਿਯਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਹਦਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਗਿਆ।
And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judaea beyond Jordan;
2 ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਪਿੱਛਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਬਿਮਾਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਕੀਤਾ।
And great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there.
3 ਕੁਝ ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਤਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਕੇ ਬੋਲੇ, “ਕੀ ਇਹ ਇੱਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਲਈ ਸ਼ਰ੍ਹਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਕਾਰਣ ਲਈ ਤਲਾਕ ਦੇ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।”
The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?
4 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪੋਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਕਿ ਆਦਿ ਵਿੱਚ, ‘ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਰੁਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ?
And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
5 ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮਰਦ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਪ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਵਹੁਟੀ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਰਹੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਇੱਕ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਹੋਣਗੇ।’
And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
6 ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਹੁਣ ਦੋ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ, ਸਗੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਹਨ! ਸੋ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਜੋੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅੱਡ ਨਾ ਕਰੇ।”
Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
7 ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਫ਼ੇਰ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਪੱਤਰ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਤਲਾਕ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਕਿਉਂ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।”
They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?
8 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਉਸਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਸਖਤ ਦਿਲੀ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਪਤਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਲਾਕ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਪਰ ਮੁਢੋਂ ਇਹ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੀਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ।
He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.
9 ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਤਲਾਕ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜੀ ਔਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ, ਉਹ ਵਿਭਚਾਰ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਹੈ ਕਿਸੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਦਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਤਲਾਕ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇੱਕ ਹੀ ਕਾਰਣ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਇਹ ਕਿ ਉਸਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਦੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਨਸੀ ਸੰਬੰਧ ਹੋਣ।”
And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.
10 ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਜੇਕਰ ਆਦਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਔਰਤ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਇਹ ਹਾਲਾਤ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਵਿਆਹ ਨਾ ਕਰਾਉਣਾ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ।”
His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry.
11 ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਸਭ ਲੋਕ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਬੂਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦੇ। ਪਰ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਆਗਿਆ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।
But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given.
12 ਇਸਦੇ ਭਿੰਨ ਕਾਰਣ ਹਨ, ਕਿ ਕੁਝ ਆਦਮੀ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਾਉਂਦੇ। ਕੁਝ ਮਰਦ ਬੱਚੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਯੋਗਤਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਨਿਪੁੰਸੱਕ ਬਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿੰਦਗੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਆਦਮੀ ਵਿਆਹ ਦਾ ਖਿਆਲ ਸਵਰਗ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਗ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਾ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਆਹ ਬਾਰੇ ਇਹ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਸਵੀਕਾਰ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ।”
For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother’s womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.
13 ਯਿਸੂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਗਤ ਤਦ ਲੋਕ ਛੋਟੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਲਿਆਏ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਰੱਖਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰੇ। ਜਦੋਂ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਉਂ ਦੇਖਿਆ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਝਿੜਕਿਆ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਆਏ ਸਨ।
Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.
14 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਬਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੜਚਨ ਨਾ ਪਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਉਣ ਦਿਉ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਰੁਕਾਵਟ ਨਾ ਬਣੋ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਸਵਰਗ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਹੈ।”
But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
15 ਅਤੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਰੱਖਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਦ ਉਹ ਥਾਂ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
And he laid his hands on them, and departed thence.
16 ਅਮੀਰ ਆਦਮੀ ਦਾ ਯਿਸੂ ਦਾ ਅਨੁਸਰਣ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਆਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਹੜਾ ਭਲਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਦੀਪਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਮਿਲੇ?”
And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
17 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨੇਕੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਮੈਥੋਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਪੁੱਛਦੇ ਹੋ? ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਦੀਪਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਖਲ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋ ਤਾਂ, ਹੁਕਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰੋ।”
And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
18 ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਕਿਹੜੇ ਹੁਕਮ?” ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “‘ਇਹ, ਕਿ ਖੂਨ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ, ਵਿਭਚਾਰ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ, ਚੋਰੀ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਝੂਠੀ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਨਾ ਦਿਓ।
He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
19 ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਂ-ਬਾਪ ਦਾ ਆਦਰ ਕਰੋ’ ਅਤੇ ‘ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਵਾਂਗ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਆਂਢੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰੋ।’”
Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
20 ਉਸ ਜਵਾਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਹੈ, ਹੋਰ ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀ ਕਮੀ ਹੈ?”
The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
21 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਜਾ ਜਾਕੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਵੇਚ ਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਧਨ ਗਰੀਬ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੰਡ ਦੇ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਵਰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਖਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਮਿਲੇਗਾ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਤੂੰ ਆਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਹੋ ਤੁਰ।”
Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
22 ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਜਵਾਨ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਤਾਂ, ਉਹ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਅਮੀਰ ਸੀ।
But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
23 ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਅਮੀਰ ਦਾ ਸਵਰਗ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੜਨਾ ਬੜਾ ਔਖਾ ਹੈ।
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
24 ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਅਮੀਰ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੜਨ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਊਠ ਦਾ ਸੂਈ ਦੇ ਨੱਕੇ ਰਾਹੀ ਲੰਘਣਾ ਸੁਖਾਲਾ ਹੈ।”
And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
25 ਚੇਲੇ ਇਹ ਸੁਣਕੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਬੋਲੇ ਕਿ, “ਤਾਂ ਕਿਸਦੀ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦੀ ਹੈ?”
When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?
26 ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਵੇਖਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਅਸੰਭਵ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਲਈ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਸੰਭਵ ਹੈ।”
But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
27 ਪਤਰਸ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਲੱਗਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਫ਼ਿਰ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ?”
Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?
28 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਜਦੋਂ ਨਵੀ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਸਾਜੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਹਿਮਾਮਈ ਸਿੰਘਾਸਨ ਤੇ ਬੈਠੇਗਾ, ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵੀ ਬਾਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਿੰਘਾਸਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਬੈਠੋਂਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਬਾਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ।
And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
29 ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ, ਭਾਈਆਂ, ਭੈਣਾਂ, ਮਾਂ-ਬਾਪ, ਬਾਲ-ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਜਾਂ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਛੱਡਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸੌ ਗੁਣਾ ਵੱਧ ਫ਼ਲ ਪਾਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਦੀਪਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਵਾਰਸ ਬਣੇਗਾ।
And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
30 ਪਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੁਣ ਜਿੰਦਗੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੁਤਬਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ, ਭਵਿੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਬੜੀ ਨੀਵੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ। ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਰਜਾ ਹੁਣ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਨੀਵਾਂ ਹੈ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚਾ ਦਰਜਾ ਪਾਉਣਗੇ।
But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.
