Matthew 15
1 ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਨੇਮ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਰੀਤਾਂ ਤਦ ਕੁਝ ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀ ਤੇ ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਯਿਸੂ ਕੋਲ ਆਏ। ਉਹ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਤੋਂ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਆਏ ਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ।
2 “ਤੇਰੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਵਡੇਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਰੀਤ ਦੀ ਉਲੰਘਣਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ? ਤੇਰੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਭੋਜਨ ਖਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੱਥ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਧੋਂਦੇ?”
3 ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਰੀਤ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਦੀ ਉਲੰਘਨਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ?
4 ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਫ਼ੁਰਮਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ, ‘ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਦਾ ਆਦਰ ਕਰੋ, ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਫ਼ੁਰਮਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਵੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਿਤਾ ਜਾਂ ਮਾਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਦਾ ਬੋਲੇ ਉਹ ਜਾਨੋ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ।’
5 ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਜਾਂ ਮਾਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਖ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਕੁਝ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਲਈ ਇਸਤੇਮਾਲ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਪਰ ਇਹ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਇਸਤੇਮਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ।
6 ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦਾ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹੋ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਰੰਪਰਾ ਕਾਰਣ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
7 ਹੇ ਕਪਟੀਓ; ਯਸਾਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਠੀਕ ਅਗੰਮ ਵਾਕ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ:
8 ‘ਇਹ ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੁਲ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰਾ ਆਦਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਿਲ ਮੈਥੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੈ।
9 ਉਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਚੀਜ਼ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ ਰੀਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।’”
10 ਉਸ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਲ ਸੱਦਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਸੁਣੋ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਝੋ!
11 ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਅੰਦਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਾਉਂਦਾ, ਸਗੋਂ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦੇ ਮੂਹੋਂ ਨਿਕਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਬਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।”
12 ਤਦ ਚੇਲੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਕੋਲ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਕੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ, ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਕੇ ਨਰਾਜ਼ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਸਨ।”
13 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਹਰੇਕ ਬੂਟਾ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਰਗੀ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਾਇਆ ਸੋ ਜੜੋਂ ਪੁਟਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
14 ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਰਹੋ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਵੋ। ਉਹ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਆਗੂ ਹਨ। ਅਤੇ ਜੇਕਰ ਇੱਕ ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਆਦਮੀ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਦੀ ਰਾਹਨੁਮਾਈ ਕਰਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਟੋਏ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਿੱਗਣਗੇ।”
15 ਪਤਰਸ ਨੇ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਉਸਦਾ ਅਰਥ ਦੱਸੋ।”
16 ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਦੂਜੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੀ ਹਾਲੇ ਵੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਣਾ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਿਲ ਹੈ।
17 ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਢਿੱਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਬਾਹਰ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਪੱਖਾਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ?
18 ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਨਿਕਲਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਦਿਲੋਂ ਆਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਇਹੋ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਅਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
19 ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਬੁਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ, ਜਿਵੇਂ, ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਵਿੱਚਾਰ, ਕਤਲ, ਬਦਕਾਰੀ, ਜਿਨਸੀ ਗੁਨਾਹ, ਚੋਰੀ ਕਰਨਾ, ਝੂਠ ਬੋਲਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਭੰਡੀ ਕਰਨੀ, ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦੇ ਦਿਲੋਂ ਹੀ ਆਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
20 ਇਹੋ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਅਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੱਥ ਧੋਇਆਂ ਰੋਟੀ ਖਾਣੀ, ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਅਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੀ।”
21 ਯਿਸੂ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਗ਼ੈਰ-ਯਹੂਦੀ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਉਣਾ ਯਿਸੂ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਚੱਲ ਕੇ ਸੂਰ ਅਤੇ ਸੈਦਾ ਦੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਿਆ।
22 ਉਸ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਕਨਾਨੀ ਔਰਤ ਆਈ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਚੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੋਲੀ, “ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ, ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ! ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਦਯਾ ਕਰੋ ਮੇਰੀ ਧੀ ਦਾ ਭੂਤ ਦੇ ਸਾਏ ਨਾਲ ਬੁਰਾ ਹਾਲ ਹੈ।”
23 ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨਾ ਆਖਿਆ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ, “ਐਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਕਹੋ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਚਲੀ ਜਾਵੇ। ਉਹ ਸਾਡਾ ਪਿੱਛਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੋਈ ਰੌਲਾ ਪਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।”
24 ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੁਆਚੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਭੇਡਾਂ ਲਈ ਘੱਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।”
25 ਪਰ ਉਹ ਯਿਸੂ ਕੋਲ ਆਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਮੱਥਾ ਟੇਕ ਕੇ ਬੋਲੀ, “ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ, ਮੇਰੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰੋ।”
26 ਤਾਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਬਾਲਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੋਟੀ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਕੁੱਤਿਆਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਸੁੱਟਣੀ ਚੰਗੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।”
27 ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਹਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ, ਪਰ ਕੁੱਤੇ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੀ ਮੇਜ਼ ਤੋਂ ਡਿੱਗੇ ਰੋਟੀ ਦੇ ਟੁਕੜੇ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।”
28 ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਹੇ ਬੀਬੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਵੱਡੀ ਹੈ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੂੰ ਚਾਹੇਂ ਉਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਹੋਵੇ।” ਇਉਂ ਉਸਦੀ ਧੀ ਉਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਹੀ ਚੰਗੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ।
29 ਯਿਸੂ ਦਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਠੀਕ ਕਰਨਾ ਯਿਸੂ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਤੁਰਕੇ ਗਲੀਲੀ ਝੀਲ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਆਇਆ, ਅਤੇ ਪਹਾੜ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ੍ਹਕੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਬਹਿ ਗਿਆ।
30 ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਆਏ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੰਗੜੀਆਂ, ਅੰਨ੍ਹਿਆਂ, ਟੁੰਡਿਆਂ, ਗੂੰਗਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਏ। ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਲਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਕੀਤਾ।
31 ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਗੂੰਗੇ ਬੋਲ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਟੁੰਡੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਲੰਗੜ੍ਹੇ ਤੁਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕੀਤੀ।
32 ਯਿਸੂ ਦਾ ਚਾਰ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੋਜਨ ਕਰਾਉਣਾ ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਲ ਸੱਦ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮੈਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਤਰਸ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਹ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਖਾਣ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਕਿ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੁੱਖਿਆਂ ਵਿਦਾ ਕਰਾਂ, ਕਿਤੇ ਉਹ ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਭੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਾਰੇ ਬੇਹੋਸ਼ ਨਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ।”
33 ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਅਸੀਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਖਾਣ ਲਈ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਭੋਜਨ ਇਸ ਬੀਆਬਾਨ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿੱਥੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ?”
34 ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਕਿੰਨੀਆਂ ਰੋਟੀਆਂ ਹਨ?” ਉਹ ਬੋਲੇ, “ਸੱਤ ਰੋਟੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਥੋੜੀਆਂ ਨਿੱਕੀਆਂ ਮੱਛੀਆਂ ਹਨ।”
35 ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਭੀੜ ਨੂੰ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਤੇ ਬੈਠਣ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ।
36 ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸੱਤ ਰੋਟੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੱਛੀਆਂ ਲਈਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਸ਼ੁਕਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਤੋੜੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੰਡਿਆਂ।
37 ਸਭ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਰੱਜਕੇ ਖਾਧਾ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਬਚੇ ਹੋਏ ਭੋਜਨ ਨਾਲ ਸੱਤ ਟੋਕਰੀਆਂ ਭਰੀਆਂ।
38 ਔਰਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਖਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਛੁੱਟ ਉੱਥੇ ਘੱਟ ਤੋਂ ਘੱਟ ਚਾਰ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਆਦਮੀ ਸਨ।
39 ਫ਼ਿਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਦਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਹ ਬੇੜੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਮਗਦਾਨ ਦੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਇਆ।
1 Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying,
2 Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.
3 But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
4 For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.
5 But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me;
6 And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.
7 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,
8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
10 And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand:
11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
12 Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying?
13 But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.
14 Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.
15 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Declare unto us this parable.
16 And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding?
17 Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?
18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
20 These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.
21 Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon.
22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.
23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.
24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.
26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs.
27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.
28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.
29 And Jesus departed from thence, and came nigh unto the sea of Galilee; and went up into a mountain, and sat down there.
30 And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus’ feet; and he healed them:
31 Insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel.
32 Then Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way.
33 And his disciples say unto him, Whence should we have so much bread in the wilderness, as to fill so great a multitude?
34 And Jesus saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven, and a few little fishes.
35 And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground.
36 And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
37 And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets full.
38 And they that did eat were four thousand men, beside women and children.
39 And he sent away the multitude, and took ship, and came into the coasts of Magdala.

1 ਯਿਸੂ ਦੀ ਤਲਾਕ ਬਾਰੇ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਜਦੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਖ ਹਟਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਗਲੀਲ ਤੋਂ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਅਤੇ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਯਹੂਦਿਯਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਹਦਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਗਿਆ।
And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judaea beyond Jordan;

And great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there.
3 ਕੁਝ ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਤਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਕੇ ਬੋਲੇ, “ਕੀ ਇਹ ਇੱਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਲਈ ਸ਼ਰ੍ਹਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਕਾਰਣ ਲਈ ਤਲਾਕ ਦੇ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।”
The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?
4 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪੋਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਕਿ ਆਦਿ ਵਿੱਚ, ‘ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਰੁਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ?
And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
5 ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮਰਦ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਪ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਵਹੁਟੀ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਰਹੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਇੱਕ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਹੋਣਗੇ।’
And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
6 ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਹੁਣ ਦੋ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ, ਸਗੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਹਨ! ਸੋ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਜੋੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅੱਡ ਨਾ ਕਰੇ।”
Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
7 ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਫ਼ੇਰ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਪੱਤਰ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਤਲਾਕ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਕਿਉਂ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।”
They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?
8 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਉਸਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਸਖਤ ਦਿਲੀ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਪਤਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਲਾਕ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਪਰ ਮੁਢੋਂ ਇਹ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੀਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ।
He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.
9 ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਤਲਾਕ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜੀ ਔਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ, ਉਹ ਵਿਭਚਾਰ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਹੈ ਕਿਸੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਦਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਤਲਾਕ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇੱਕ ਹੀ ਕਾਰਣ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਇਹ ਕਿ ਉਸਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਦੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਨਸੀ ਸੰਬੰਧ ਹੋਣ।”
And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.
10 ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਜੇਕਰ ਆਦਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਔਰਤ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਇਹ ਹਾਲਾਤ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਵਿਆਹ ਨਾ ਕਰਾਉਣਾ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ।”
His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry.
11 ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਸਭ ਲੋਕ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਬੂਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦੇ। ਪਰ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਆਗਿਆ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।
But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given.
12 ਇਸਦੇ ਭਿੰਨ ਕਾਰਣ ਹਨ, ਕਿ ਕੁਝ ਆਦਮੀ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਾਉਂਦੇ। ਕੁਝ ਮਰਦ ਬੱਚੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਯੋਗਤਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਨਿਪੁੰਸੱਕ ਬਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿੰਦਗੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਆਦਮੀ ਵਿਆਹ ਦਾ ਖਿਆਲ ਸਵਰਗ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਗ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਾ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਆਹ ਬਾਰੇ ਇਹ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਸਵੀਕਾਰ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ।”
For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother’s womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.
13 ਯਿਸੂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਗਤ ਤਦ ਲੋਕ ਛੋਟੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਲਿਆਏ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਰੱਖਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰੇ। ਜਦੋਂ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਉਂ ਦੇਖਿਆ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਝਿੜਕਿਆ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਆਏ ਸਨ।
Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.
14 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਬਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੜਚਨ ਨਾ ਪਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਉਣ ਦਿਉ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਰੁਕਾਵਟ ਨਾ ਬਣੋ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਸਵਰਗ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਹੈ।”
But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
15 ਅਤੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਰੱਖਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਦ ਉਹ ਥਾਂ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
And he laid his hands on them, and departed thence.
16 ਅਮੀਰ ਆਦਮੀ ਦਾ ਯਿਸੂ ਦਾ ਅਨੁਸਰਣ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਆਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਹੜਾ ਭਲਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਦੀਪਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਮਿਲੇ?”
And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
17 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨੇਕੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਮੈਥੋਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਪੁੱਛਦੇ ਹੋ? ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਦੀਪਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਖਲ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋ ਤਾਂ, ਹੁਕਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰੋ।”
And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
18 ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਕਿਹੜੇ ਹੁਕਮ?” ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “‘ਇਹ, ਕਿ ਖੂਨ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ, ਵਿਭਚਾਰ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ, ਚੋਰੀ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਝੂਠੀ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਨਾ ਦਿਓ।
He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
19 ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਂ-ਬਾਪ ਦਾ ਆਦਰ ਕਰੋ’ ਅਤੇ ‘ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਵਾਂਗ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਆਂਢੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰੋ।’”
Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
20 ਉਸ ਜਵਾਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਹੈ, ਹੋਰ ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀ ਕਮੀ ਹੈ?”
The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
21 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਜਾ ਜਾਕੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਵੇਚ ਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਧਨ ਗਰੀਬ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੰਡ ਦੇ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਵਰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਖਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਮਿਲੇਗਾ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਤੂੰ ਆਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਹੋ ਤੁਰ।”
Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
22 ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਜਵਾਨ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਤਾਂ, ਉਹ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਅਮੀਰ ਸੀ।
But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
23 ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਅਮੀਰ ਦਾ ਸਵਰਗ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੜਨਾ ਬੜਾ ਔਖਾ ਹੈ।
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
24 ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਅਮੀਰ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੜਨ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਊਠ ਦਾ ਸੂਈ ਦੇ ਨੱਕੇ ਰਾਹੀ ਲੰਘਣਾ ਸੁਖਾਲਾ ਹੈ।”
And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
25 ਚੇਲੇ ਇਹ ਸੁਣਕੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਬੋਲੇ ਕਿ, “ਤਾਂ ਕਿਸਦੀ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦੀ ਹੈ?”
When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?
26 ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਵੇਖਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਅਸੰਭਵ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਲਈ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਸੰਭਵ ਹੈ।”
But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
27 ਪਤਰਸ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਲੱਗਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਫ਼ਿਰ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ?”
Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?
28 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਜਦੋਂ ਨਵੀ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਸਾਜੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਹਿਮਾਮਈ ਸਿੰਘਾਸਨ ਤੇ ਬੈਠੇਗਾ, ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵੀ ਬਾਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਿੰਘਾਸਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਬੈਠੋਂਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਬਾਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ।
And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
29 ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ, ਭਾਈਆਂ, ਭੈਣਾਂ, ਮਾਂ-ਬਾਪ, ਬਾਲ-ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਜਾਂ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਛੱਡਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸੌ ਗੁਣਾ ਵੱਧ ਫ਼ਲ ਪਾਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਦੀਪਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਵਾਰਸ ਬਣੇਗਾ।
And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
30 ਪਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੁਣ ਜਿੰਦਗੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੁਤਬਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ, ਭਵਿੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਬੜੀ ਨੀਵੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ। ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਰਜਾ ਹੁਣ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਨੀਵਾਂ ਹੈ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚਾ ਦਰਜਾ ਪਾਉਣਗੇ।
But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.
