1 ਕੁਝ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ, ਯਿਸੂ ਕਣਕ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਲੰਘ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਭੁੱਖੇ ਸਨ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਿੱਟੇ ਤੋੜ-ਤੋੜ ਕੇ ਖਾਣੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ।

2 ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਵੇਖ! ਤੇਰੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਉਹ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰ੍ਹਾ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਹੈ।”

3 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਭਲਾ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਕਿ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਕੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਥੀ ਭੁੱਖੇ ਸਨ?

4 ਦਾਊਦ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਗਿਆ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਵੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਰੋਟੀਆਂ ਖਾਧੀਆਂ, ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਕਿ ਦਾਊਦ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਖਾਣੀਆਂ ਯੋਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ। ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਣ ਦੀ ਇਜਾਜ਼ਤ ਸੀ?

5 ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਤੁਰੇਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਕਿ ਹਰ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਜਕ ਹੀ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰ੍ਹਾ ਨੂੰ ਤੋੜਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਹਾਲੇ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ?

6 ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਇੱਥੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਵੀ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਮੰਦਰ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੀ ਮਹਾਨ ਹੈ।

7 ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ‘ਮੈਂ ਜੀਵ ਬਲੀਦਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਸਗੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਦਯਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।’ ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸਦਾ ਅਰਥ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਨਾ ਨਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਗਲਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।

8 “ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੈ।”

9 ਯਿਸੂ ਦਾ ਟੁੰਡੇ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਨੂੰ ਠੀਕ ਕਰਨਾ ਯਿਸੂ ਉਸ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਰਕੇ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਤੇ ਗਿਆ।

10 ਉੱਥੇ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੀ ਜਿਸਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਸੁਕਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਉੱਥੇ ਕੁਝ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਜੁੰਮੇ ਇੱਕ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਕਹਿਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ ਕਿ, “ਕੀ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਸ਼ਰ੍ਹਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੈ?”

11 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੋਲ ਇੱਕ ਭੇਡ ਹੋਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਜੇ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਉਹ ਟੇਏ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਿੱਗ ਪਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਟੋਏ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੱਢੋਂਗੇ?

12 ਨਿਸ਼ਚੇ ਹੀ, ਆਦਮੀ ਭੇਡ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਕਿਤੇ ਵੱਧ ਮੁੱਲਵਾਨ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਚੰਗਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਸ਼ਰ੍ਹਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੈ।”

13 ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਟੁੰਡੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਵੇਖਣਦੇ?” ਜਦ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਯਿਸੂ ਅੱਗੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਦੂਜੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੀ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।

14 ਪਰ ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਦਾ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਉਂਤਾਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ।

15 ਯਿਸੂ, ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੇਵਕ ਹੈ ਯਿਸੂ ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਉਂਤਾਂ ਜਾਣ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਲੱਗ ਤੁਰੇ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਕੀਤਾ।

16 ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਗੀਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਹੋਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਦੱਸਣ।

17 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਨਬੀ ਯਸਾਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕੀਤਾ।

18 “ਇਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ। ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਤੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹਾਂ। ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਤਮਾ ਉਸ ਉੱਪਰ ਰੱਖਾਂਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕਰੇਗਾ।

19 ਉਹ ਨਾ ਝਗੜਾ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਚੀਕੇਗਾ। ਨਾ ਹੀ ਰਾਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਉਸਦੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਸੁਣੇਗਾ।

20 ਉਹ ਲਿਤਾੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਕਾਨੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਤੋੜੇਗਾ। ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੀਵੇ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਰੱਖੇਗਾ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਬੁਝਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਉਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਉਹ ਨਿਰਪੱਖ ਨਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਜਿੱਤ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਨਾ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇ।

21 ਅਤੇ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਉਸ ਉੱਪਰ ਆਪਣੀ ਆਸ ਰੱਖਣਗੀਆਂ।”

22 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਲੋਕ, ਇੱਕ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਗੂੰਗੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਭੂਤ ਚਿੰਬੜਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਲਿਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਚੰਗਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਕੀ ਉਹ ਬੋਲਣ-ਵੇਖਣ ਲੱਗਾ।

23 ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਕੀ ਇਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਤਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੇਜਣ ਦਾ ਵਾਅਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।”

24 ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਹਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਉਹ ਬਆਲ-ਜ਼ਬੂਲ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਾਸਕ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਭੂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਢਦਾ ਹੈ।”

25 ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੋਚ-ਵਿੱਚਾਰ ਜਾਣਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਹਰ ਉਹ ਰਾਜ, ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨਾਲ ਲੜਦਾ ਹੈ,ਨਸ਼ਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਜਾਂ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ, ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨਾਲ ਲੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ।

26 ਅਤੇ ਜੇ ਸ਼ੈਤਾਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀ ਭੂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਧੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਸ਼ੈਤਾਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਲੜ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਸਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੱਲ ਸੱਕਦਾ?

27 ਜੇਕਰ ਮੈਂ ਭੂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਢਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਬਆਲ-ਜ਼ਬੂਲ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਭੂਤ ਕੱਢਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਕਿਸ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ? ਇਸ ਲਈ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੋਕ ਇਹ ਸਾਬਿਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਗਲਤ ਹੋ।

28 ਪਰ ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਆਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਭੂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਢਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਇਸਦਾ ਮਤਲਬ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਆ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ ਹੈ।

29 ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕਿਸੇ ਜ਼ੋਰਾਵਰ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਘੁਸ ਕੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਮਾਲ ਚੋਰੀ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੇ ਤਾਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਜੋਰਾਵਰ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਨ੍ਹੇਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਜੋਰਾਵਰ ਦੇ ਘਰੋਂ ਮਾਲ ਚੋਰੀ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ।

30 ਉਹ ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੁੜਦਾ, ਖਿੰਡ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

31 “ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਹਰ ਪਾਪ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਕੁਫ਼ਰ ਲਈ ਮਾਫ਼ੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਲੋਕ ਕਰਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਉਹ ਕੁਫ਼ਰ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਹੋਵੇ, ਮਾਫ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

32 ਅਤੇ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਗੱਲ ਕਰੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਪਰ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਗੱਲ ਕਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਇਸ ਜੁੱਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੇ ਨਾਹੀ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਜੁੱਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

33 ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਕਰਨੀ ਦੱਸਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕੀ ਹੋ “ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਫ਼ਲ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ, ਰੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਬਣਾਓ। ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਰੁੱਖ ਬੁਰਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਇਸਦਾ ਫ਼ਲ ਵੀ ਭੈੜਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਬਿਰਛ ਆਪਣੇ ਫ਼ਲੋਂ ਹੀ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

34 ਹੇ ਸੱਪਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੱਚਿਓ! ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਬੁਰੇ ਹੋਕੇ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਹੋਂ? ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਦਿਲ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੈ, ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਵੀ ਉਹੀ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ।

35 ਇੱਕ ਚੰਗੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਮਗ੍ਰੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲੋਂ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਤੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਆਦਮੀ ਬੁਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦਿਲੋਂ ਮੰਦਾ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ।

36 ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਹਰੇਕ ਅਕਾਰਥ ਗੱਲ ਲਈ, ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਬੋਲਣਗੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਉਸਦਾ ਹਿਸਾਬ ਦੇਣਗੇ।

37 ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਤੋਂ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਧਰਮੀ ਮੰਨੇ ਜਾਵੋਂਗੇ। ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।”

38 ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਤੋਂ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਮੰਗਿਆ ਤਦ ਕੁਝ ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਗੁਰੂ, ਅਸੀਂ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਵਜੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਕਰਿਸ਼ਮਾ ਵੇਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ।”

39 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਪੀ ਲੋਕ ਹੀ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਵਜੋਂ ਕਰਿਸ਼ਮਾ ਵੇਖਣਾ ਲੋਚਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਬੂਤ ਵਜੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਸਿਵਾ ਉਸ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਦੇ, ਜੋ ਨਬੀ ਯੂਨਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਪਰਿਆ।

40 ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਯੂਨਾਹ ਤਿੰਨ ਦਿਨ ਅਤੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਰਾਤ ਵੱਡੀ ਮੱਛੀ ਦੇ ਢਿਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਿਹਾ, ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਵੀ ਤਿੰਨ ਦਿਨ ਅਤੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਰਾਤ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਰਹੇਗਾ।

41 ਨੀਨਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਜੋ ਅੱਜ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਨਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਉੱਠ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਠਹਿਰਾਉਣਗੇ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਯੂਨਾਹ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਸੁਣਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਬਦਲ ਲਏ। ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਯੂਨਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਵੱਡਾ ਇੱਥੇ ਹੈ।

42 “ਦੱਖਣ ਦੀ ਰਾਣੀ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਉੱਠ ਖੜ੍ਹੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦਿਖਾਵੇਗੀ ਕੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਗਲਤ ਹੋ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਦੂਰ-ਦੁਰਾਡਿਉਂ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਸੁਨਣ ਆਈ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਵੱਡਾ ਇੱਥੇ ਹੈ।

43 ਅੱਜ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਹਨ “ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਆਤਮਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਿਕਲ ਗਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਖੁਸ਼ਕ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਰਾਮ ਭਾਲਦਾ ਫ਼ਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਆਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭਦੀ।

44 ਤਦ ਇਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ‘ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰੋਂ, ਜਿੱਥੋਂ ਨਿਕਲਿਆ ਸੀ, ਉੱਥੇ ਹੀ ਮੁੜ ਜਾਵਾਂਗਾ।’ ਅਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਉਸ ਘਰ ਪਰਤਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਘਰ ਸੁੰਨਾ, ਝਾੜਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਵਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।

45 ਤਦ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰੇਤ ਆਤਮਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਵੱਧ ਭੈੜੇ ਸੱਤ ਹੋਰ ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਆਤਮੇ ਨਾਲ ਲਿਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਫ਼ਿਰ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਤਮੇ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅੰਦਰ ਜਾ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਹਾਲ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੀ ਵੱਧ ਬੁਰਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹੀ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਪਰੇਗਾ ਜੋ ਅੱਜ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।”

46 ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਹੀ ਉਸਦਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ, ਉਸਦੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਭਰਾ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਬਾਹਰ ਖੜੋਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ।

47 ਤਾਂ ਇੱਕ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਬਾਹਰ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਭਰਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।”

48 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਕੌਣ ਹੈ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਕੌਣ ਹਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਰਾ?”

49 ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਵਿਖਾਏ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਵੇਖੋ ਇਹੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਰਾ ਹਨ।

50 ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਰਗੀ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਭਰਾ, ਭੈਣ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਹੈ।”

1 At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn, and to eat.

2 But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.

3 But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;

4 How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?

5 Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?

6 But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.

7 But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.

8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

9 And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue:

10 And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.

11 And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?

12 How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.

13 Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.

14 Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him.

15 But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;

16 And charged them that they should not make him known:

17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,

18 Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.

19 He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.

20 A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.

21 And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.

22 Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.

23 And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?

24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.

25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?

27 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.

28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

29 Or else how can one enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.

30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.

31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.

34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

38 Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.

39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:

40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.

42 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.

44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.

45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.

46 While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him.

47 Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.

48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?

49 And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!

50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

1 ਕੁਝ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ, ਯਿਸੂ ਕਣਕ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਲੰਘ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਭੁੱਖੇ ਸਨ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਿੱਟੇ ਤੋੜ-ਤੋੜ ਕੇ ਖਾਣੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ।

2 ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਵੇਖ! ਤੇਰੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਉਹ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰ੍ਹਾ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਹੈ।”

3 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਭਲਾ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਕਿ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਕੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਥੀ ਭੁੱਖੇ ਸਨ?

4 ਦਾਊਦ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਗਿਆ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਵੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਰੋਟੀਆਂ ਖਾਧੀਆਂ, ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਕਿ ਦਾਊਦ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਖਾਣੀਆਂ ਯੋਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ। ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਣ ਦੀ ਇਜਾਜ਼ਤ ਸੀ?

5 ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਤੁਰੇਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਕਿ ਹਰ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਜਕ ਹੀ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰ੍ਹਾ ਨੂੰ ਤੋੜਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਹਾਲੇ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ?

6 ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਇੱਥੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਵੀ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਮੰਦਰ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੀ ਮਹਾਨ ਹੈ।

7 ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ‘ਮੈਂ ਜੀਵ ਬਲੀਦਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਸਗੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਦਯਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।’ ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸਦਾ ਅਰਥ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਨਾ ਨਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਗਲਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।

8 “ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੈ।”

9 ਯਿਸੂ ਦਾ ਟੁੰਡੇ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਨੂੰ ਠੀਕ ਕਰਨਾ ਯਿਸੂ ਉਸ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਰਕੇ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਤੇ ਗਿਆ।

10 ਉੱਥੇ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੀ ਜਿਸਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਸੁਕਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਉੱਥੇ ਕੁਝ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਜੁੰਮੇ ਇੱਕ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਕਹਿਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ ਕਿ, “ਕੀ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਸ਼ਰ੍ਹਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੈ?”

11 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੋਲ ਇੱਕ ਭੇਡ ਹੋਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਜੇ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਉਹ ਟੇਏ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਿੱਗ ਪਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਟੋਏ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੱਢੋਂਗੇ?

12 ਨਿਸ਼ਚੇ ਹੀ, ਆਦਮੀ ਭੇਡ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਕਿਤੇ ਵੱਧ ਮੁੱਲਵਾਨ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਚੰਗਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਸ਼ਰ੍ਹਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੈ।”

13 ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਟੁੰਡੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਵੇਖਣਦੇ?” ਜਦ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਯਿਸੂ ਅੱਗੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਦੂਜੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੀ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।

14 ਪਰ ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਦਾ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਉਂਤਾਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ।

15 ਯਿਸੂ, ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੇਵਕ ਹੈ ਯਿਸੂ ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਉਂਤਾਂ ਜਾਣ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਲੱਗ ਤੁਰੇ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਕੀਤਾ।

16 ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਗੀਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਹੋਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਦੱਸਣ।

17 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਨਬੀ ਯਸਾਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕੀਤਾ।

18 “ਇਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ। ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਤੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹਾਂ। ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਤਮਾ ਉਸ ਉੱਪਰ ਰੱਖਾਂਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕਰੇਗਾ।

19 ਉਹ ਨਾ ਝਗੜਾ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਚੀਕੇਗਾ। ਨਾ ਹੀ ਰਾਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਉਸਦੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਸੁਣੇਗਾ।

20 ਉਹ ਲਿਤਾੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਕਾਨੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਤੋੜੇਗਾ। ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੀਵੇ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਰੱਖੇਗਾ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਬੁਝਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਉਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਉਹ ਨਿਰਪੱਖ ਨਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਜਿੱਤ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਨਾ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇ।

21 ਅਤੇ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਉਸ ਉੱਪਰ ਆਪਣੀ ਆਸ ਰੱਖਣਗੀਆਂ।”

22 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਲੋਕ, ਇੱਕ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਗੂੰਗੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਭੂਤ ਚਿੰਬੜਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਲਿਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਚੰਗਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਕੀ ਉਹ ਬੋਲਣ-ਵੇਖਣ ਲੱਗਾ।

23 ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਕੀ ਇਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਤਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੇਜਣ ਦਾ ਵਾਅਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।”

24 ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਹਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਉਹ ਬਆਲ-ਜ਼ਬੂਲ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਾਸਕ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਭੂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਢਦਾ ਹੈ।”

25 ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੋਚ-ਵਿੱਚਾਰ ਜਾਣਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਹਰ ਉਹ ਰਾਜ, ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨਾਲ ਲੜਦਾ ਹੈ,ਨਸ਼ਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਜਾਂ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ, ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨਾਲ ਲੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ।

26 ਅਤੇ ਜੇ ਸ਼ੈਤਾਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀ ਭੂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਧੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਸ਼ੈਤਾਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਲੜ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਸਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੱਲ ਸੱਕਦਾ?

27 ਜੇਕਰ ਮੈਂ ਭੂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਢਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਬਆਲ-ਜ਼ਬੂਲ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਭੂਤ ਕੱਢਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਕਿਸ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ? ਇਸ ਲਈ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੋਕ ਇਹ ਸਾਬਿਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਗਲਤ ਹੋ।

28 ਪਰ ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਆਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਭੂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਢਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਇਸਦਾ ਮਤਲਬ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਆ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ ਹੈ।

29 ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕਿਸੇ ਜ਼ੋਰਾਵਰ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਘੁਸ ਕੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਮਾਲ ਚੋਰੀ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੇ ਤਾਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਜੋਰਾਵਰ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਨ੍ਹੇਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਜੋਰਾਵਰ ਦੇ ਘਰੋਂ ਮਾਲ ਚੋਰੀ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ।

30 ਉਹ ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੁੜਦਾ, ਖਿੰਡ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

31 “ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਹਰ ਪਾਪ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਕੁਫ਼ਰ ਲਈ ਮਾਫ਼ੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਲੋਕ ਕਰਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਉਹ ਕੁਫ਼ਰ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਹੋਵੇ, ਮਾਫ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

32 ਅਤੇ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਗੱਲ ਕਰੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਪਰ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਗੱਲ ਕਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਇਸ ਜੁੱਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੇ ਨਾਹੀ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਜੁੱਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

33 ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਕਰਨੀ ਦੱਸਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕੀ ਹੋ “ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਫ਼ਲ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ, ਰੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਬਣਾਓ। ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਰੁੱਖ ਬੁਰਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਇਸਦਾ ਫ਼ਲ ਵੀ ਭੈੜਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਬਿਰਛ ਆਪਣੇ ਫ਼ਲੋਂ ਹੀ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

34 ਹੇ ਸੱਪਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੱਚਿਓ! ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਬੁਰੇ ਹੋਕੇ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਹੋਂ? ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਦਿਲ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੈ, ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਵੀ ਉਹੀ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ।

35 ਇੱਕ ਚੰਗੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਮਗ੍ਰੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲੋਂ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਤੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਆਦਮੀ ਬੁਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦਿਲੋਂ ਮੰਦਾ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ।

36 ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਹਰੇਕ ਅਕਾਰਥ ਗੱਲ ਲਈ, ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਬੋਲਣਗੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਉਸਦਾ ਹਿਸਾਬ ਦੇਣਗੇ।

37 ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਤੋਂ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਧਰਮੀ ਮੰਨੇ ਜਾਵੋਂਗੇ। ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।”

38 ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਤੋਂ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਮੰਗਿਆ ਤਦ ਕੁਝ ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਗੁਰੂ, ਅਸੀਂ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਵਜੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਕਰਿਸ਼ਮਾ ਵੇਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ।”

39 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਪੀ ਲੋਕ ਹੀ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਵਜੋਂ ਕਰਿਸ਼ਮਾ ਵੇਖਣਾ ਲੋਚਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਬੂਤ ਵਜੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਸਿਵਾ ਉਸ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਦੇ, ਜੋ ਨਬੀ ਯੂਨਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਪਰਿਆ।

40 ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਯੂਨਾਹ ਤਿੰਨ ਦਿਨ ਅਤੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਰਾਤ ਵੱਡੀ ਮੱਛੀ ਦੇ ਢਿਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਿਹਾ, ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਵੀ ਤਿੰਨ ਦਿਨ ਅਤੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਰਾਤ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਰਹੇਗਾ।

41 ਨੀਨਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਜੋ ਅੱਜ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਨਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਉੱਠ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਠਹਿਰਾਉਣਗੇ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਯੂਨਾਹ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਸੁਣਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਬਦਲ ਲਏ। ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਯੂਨਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਵੱਡਾ ਇੱਥੇ ਹੈ।

42 “ਦੱਖਣ ਦੀ ਰਾਣੀ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਉੱਠ ਖੜ੍ਹੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦਿਖਾਵੇਗੀ ਕੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਗਲਤ ਹੋ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਦੂਰ-ਦੁਰਾਡਿਉਂ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਸੁਨਣ ਆਈ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਵੱਡਾ ਇੱਥੇ ਹੈ।

43 ਅੱਜ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਹਨ “ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਆਤਮਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਿਕਲ ਗਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਖੁਸ਼ਕ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਰਾਮ ਭਾਲਦਾ ਫ਼ਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਆਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭਦੀ।

44 ਤਦ ਇਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ‘ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰੋਂ, ਜਿੱਥੋਂ ਨਿਕਲਿਆ ਸੀ, ਉੱਥੇ ਹੀ ਮੁੜ ਜਾਵਾਂਗਾ।’ ਅਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਉਸ ਘਰ ਪਰਤਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਘਰ ਸੁੰਨਾ, ਝਾੜਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਵਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।

45 ਤਦ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰੇਤ ਆਤਮਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਵੱਧ ਭੈੜੇ ਸੱਤ ਹੋਰ ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਆਤਮੇ ਨਾਲ ਲਿਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਫ਼ਿਰ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਤਮੇ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅੰਦਰ ਜਾ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਹਾਲ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੀ ਵੱਧ ਬੁਰਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹੀ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਪਰੇਗਾ ਜੋ ਅੱਜ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।”

46 ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਹੀ ਉਸਦਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ, ਉਸਦੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਭਰਾ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਬਾਹਰ ਖੜੋਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ।

47 ਤਾਂ ਇੱਕ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਬਾਹਰ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਭਰਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।”

48 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਕੌਣ ਹੈ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਕੌਣ ਹਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਰਾ?”

49 ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਵਿਖਾਏ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਵੇਖੋ ਇਹੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਰਾ ਹਨ।

50 ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਰਗੀ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਭਰਾ, ਭੈਣ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਹੈ।”

1 At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn, and to eat.

2 But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.

3 But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;

4 How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?

5 Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?

6 But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.

7 But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.

8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

9 And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue:

10 And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.

11 And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?

12 How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.

13 Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.

14 Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him.

15 But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;

16 And charged them that they should not make him known:

17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,

18 Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.

19 He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.

20 A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.

21 And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.

22 Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.

23 And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?

24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.

25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?

27 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.

28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

29 Or else how can one enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.

30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.

31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.

34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

38 Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.

39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:

40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.

42 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.

44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.

45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.

46 While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him.

47 Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.

48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?

49 And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!

50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.
