ਉਹ ਔਰਤ ਗੈਰ-ਯਹੂਦੀ ਯੂਨਾਨਣ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਸੂਰੁਫ਼ੈਨੀਕਣ ਦਾ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਸੀਰਿਆ ਦਾ ਇਲਾਕਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸਦੀ ਧੀ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਭੂਤ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਢਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ।
