Luke 14:20
ਤੀਜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘ਮੇਰਾ ਹੁਣੇ-ਹੁਣੇ ਵਿਆਹ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਆ ਸੱਕਦਾ।’

“ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ, ਮਾਤਾ, ਪਤਨੀ, ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਜਾਂ ਭੈਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮੇਰਾ ਚੇਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ। ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਚੀਜ਼ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਆਪਣੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੀ ਵੱਧ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
