Leviticus 21:1
ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਬਿਧੀਆਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਹਾਰੂਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ, ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਖ; ਆਪਣੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਰਮਿਆਨ ਹੋਈ ਮੌਤ ਕਾਰਣ ਜਾਜਕ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਪਲੀਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ।

| the priests | הַכֹּֽהֲנִ֖ים | hakkōhănîm | ha-koh-huh-NEEM |
| the sons | בְּנֵ֣י | bĕnê | beh-NAY |
| of Aaron, | אַֽהֲרֹ֑ן | ʾahărōn | ah-huh-RONE |
| say and | וְאָֽמַרְתָּ֣ | wĕʾāmartā | veh-ah-mahr-TA |
| unto | אֲלֵהֶ֔ם | ʾălēhem | uh-lay-HEM |
| them, There shall none | לְנֶ֥פֶשׁ | lĕnepeš | leh-NEH-fesh |
| defiled be | לֹֽא | lōʾ | loh |
| for the dead | יִטַּמָּ֖א | yiṭṭammāʾ | yee-ta-MA |
| among his people: | בְּעַמָּֽיו׃ | bĕʿammāyw | beh-ah-MAIV |
