“ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਦਰ ਦਰਸਾਉ। ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਕਮਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਉਣ ਤਾਂ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਉ। ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਦਰ ਦਿਉ। ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਹਾਂ।

Proverbs 20:29
ਇੱਕ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਉਸਦੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਕਾਰਣ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਆਦਮੀ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਧੌਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।

ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਅਲੀਹੂ ਉਬੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਛੋਟੀ ਉਮਰ ਦਾ ਸੀ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਇੰਤਜਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਕਿ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਖਤਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਲਈ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਗੱਲ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਸੀ।

ਤਾਂ ਬਥਸ਼ਬਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਕੋਲ ਅਦੋਨੀਯਹ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਗਈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਲਈ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਫੇਰ ਉਸ ਅੱਗੇ ਝੁਕ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਿੰਘਾਸਣ ਤੇ ਬੈਠ ਗਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਉਸਦੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਦੇ ਬੈਠਣ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਹੋਰ ਸਿੰਘਾਸਣ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੱਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਬੈਠ ਗਈ।
Leviticus 19:14
“ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਬੋਲੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਬੇਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਡੇਗਣ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਕੋਈ ਰੁਕਾਵਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਉਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ। ਪਰ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਆਦਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਹਾਂ।
1 Peter 2:17
ਸਭ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਕਰੋ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਭੈਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰੋ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੋਂ ਡਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਕਰੋ।
Isaiah 3:5
ਹਰ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੋਸਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੀ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਸਭ ਜਾਣੇ ਸਤਾਏ ਜਾਣਗੇ। ਛੋਟੇ ਵਡਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਆਦਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਗੇ। ਸਾਧਾਰਣ ਲੋਕ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਣ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਦਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਗੇ।”
