ਮੂਸਾ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਨੇਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਣ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ “ਹੁਣ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਿਧੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਹੁਕਮਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੁਣ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਖਾਉਣ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨ ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਜੀਵਿਤ ਰਹੇਂਗਾ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਾਕੇ ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕਰ ਸੱਕੇਂਗਾ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
Leviticus 18:30
ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਪਾਪ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਬਿਧੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਕੋਈ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਗੁਨਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ। ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਪਾਕ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ। ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹਾਂ।”
Leviticus 17:10
“ਮੈਂ (ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ) ਉਸ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਹੋਵਾਂਗਾ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਖੂਨ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਕੋਈ ਫ਼ਰਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਬੰਦਾ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਸ਼ਹਿਰੀ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਦਰਮਿਆਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਖ ਕਰ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ।
Leviticus 17:8
“ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸ; ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਾਗਰਿਕ ਜਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਦਰਮਿਆਨ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਕੋਈ ਮੁਸਾਫ਼ਰ ਜਾਂ ਪਰਦੇਸੀ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਹੋਮ ਦੀ ਭੇਟ ਜਾਂ ਬਲੀ ਭੇਟ ਕਰੇ।
