Leviticus 18:24
“ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਪਲੀਤ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ। ਮੈਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਪਾਪ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਨ।

ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਨਾਲ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਾ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਓਸੇ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨੀ! ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਮੰਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਤਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਸਾੜਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਲੀ ਚੜ੍ਹਾ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Leviticus 20:22
“ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਬਿਧੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਲਿਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹੋਂਗੇ। ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਬਿਧੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਨੂੰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨੋਗੇ, ਉਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਉਗਲੇਗੀ।

“ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕੀ ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਨਸੀ ਸੰਬੰਧ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਨਾਉਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ। ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਹਾਂ।

ਅਤੀਤ ਵਿੱਚ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸੀ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨੀਆਂ ਚਾਹੀਦੀਆਂ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਉੱਥੇ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ। ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕਨਾਨ ਲੈ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ। ਇੱਥੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨੀਆਂ ਚਾਹੀਦੀਆਂ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਉਸ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਨੂਨਾਂ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਨਾ ਰਹੋ।
