ਇਸ ਲਈ ਸ਼ਕਮ ਦੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਅਬੀਮਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਦੇ 70 ਸਿੱਕੇ ਦਿੱਤੇ। ਇਹ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਬਆਲ ਬਰੀਥ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੀ ਸੀ। ਅਬੀਮਲਕ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਖਰੀਦਣ ਲਈ ਵਰਤਿਆ। ਇਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਬੇਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਲਾਪਰਵਾਹ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਵੀ ਅਬੀਮਲਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ।
