Judges 20:18
ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਬੈਤੇਲ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਤੱਕ ਗਏ। ਬੈਤੇਲ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਿਹੜਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰੇਗਾ?” ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਪਹਿਲ ਕਰੇਗਾ।”

ਜੇ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਪਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਜਾਜਕ ਅਲਆਜ਼ਾਰ ਵੱਲ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਅਲਆਜ਼ਾਰ ਊਰੀਮ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਉੱਤਰ ਜਾਣੇਗਾ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਲੋਕ ਉਹੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਨਗੇ ਜੋ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਉਹ ਆਖੇ, ‘ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰੋ’, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਨਗੇ। ਅਤੇ ਜੇ ਉਹ ਆਖੇ ‘ਘਰ ਜਾਉ’ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਘਰ ਚੱਲੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ।”

ਹੁਣ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕੋ, ਗੱਲ ਕਰੋ। ਆਪਣਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਦਿਉ ਕਿ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।”

ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਇਹ ਜਾਨਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਇਹ ਲੋਕ ਸੱਚ ਆਖ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਰੋਟੀ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਦ ਚੱਖਿਆ-ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
