Judges 12:1
ਯਿਫ਼ਤਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਇਫ਼ਰਾਈਮ ਇਫ਼ਰਾਈਮ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਦੇ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਿਪਾਹੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਠਿਆਂ ਕੀਤਾ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਹ ਨਦੀ ਪਾਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਸਾਪੋਨ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵੱਲ ਗਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਫ਼ਤਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੂੰ ਅੰਮੋਨੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਲੜਨ ਲਈ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੱਦਿਆ? ਅਸੀਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਣੇ ਅੱਗ ਲਾ ਦਿਆਂਗੇ?”

Proverbs 27:3

ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬਹਿਸ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਕੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਕੋਲ ਆਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਸਾਡੇ ਹੀ ਭਰਾ, ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਲਈ ਚੜ੍ਹਾ ਲਿਆਏ, ਅਤੇ ਜਾਕੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ, ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਰਦਨੋ ਪਾਰ ਲੈ ਆਏ?”
Judges 15:6
ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਇਹ ਕਿਸਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ?” ਕਿਸਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਿਆ, “ਤਿਮਨਾਥ ਦੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਜਵਾਈ ਸਮਸੂਨ ਨੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੌਹਰੇ ਨੇ ਸਮਸੂਨ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਵਿਆਹ ਵੇਲੇ ਦੇ ਸਰਬਾਲ੍ਹੇ ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ।” ਇਸ ਲਈ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਮਸੂਨ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗ ਲਾਕੇ ਸਾੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
Judges 14:15
ਚੌਥੇ ਦਿਨ, ਆਦਮੀ ਸਮਸੂਨ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਕੋਲ ਆਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਇੱਥੇ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਗਰੀਬ ਬਨਾਉਣਾ ਲਈ ਸੱਦਾ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਸੀ? ਤੈਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਬੁਝਾਰਤ ਦਾ ਜਵਾਬ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਆਪਨੇ ਪਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਛਲ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ। ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਇਸ ਬੁਝਾਰਤ ਦਾ ਜਵਾਬ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੱਢਾਵੇਂਗੀ ਤਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਾੜਕੇ ਮਾਰ ਦਿਆਂਗੇ।”
