ਗਿਬਓਨੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਅਸੀਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਝੂਠ ਬੋਲਿਆ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਡਰਦੇ ਸਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿਉਂਗੇ। ਅਸੀਂ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ। ਇਸੇ ਲਈ ਅਸੀਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਝੂਠ ਆਖਿਆ।

thy servants,	לַֽעֲבָדֶ֙יךָ֙	laʿăbādêkā	la-uh-va-DAY-HA
	אֵת֩	ʾēt	ate
that how	אֲשֶׁ֨ר	ʾăšer	uh-SHER
the Lord	צִוָּ֜ה	ṣiwwâ	tsee-WA
thy God	יְהוָ֤ה	yĕhwâ	yeh-VA
commanded	אֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙	ʾĕlōhêkā	ay-loh-HAY-HA
servant his	אֶת	ʾet	et
	מֹשֶׁ֣ה	mōše	moh-SHEH
Moses	עַבְדּ֔וֹ	ʿabdô	av-DOH
to give	לָתֵ֤ת	lātēt	la-TATE
you all	לָכֶם֙	lākem	la-HEM
land, the	אֶת	ʾet	et
and to destroy	כָּל	kāl	kahl
	הָאָ֔רֶץ	hāʾāreṣ	ha-AH-rets
all	וּלְהַשְׁמִ֛יד	ûlĕhašmîd	oo-leh-hahsh-MEED
inhabitants the	אֶת	ʾet	et
of the land	כָּל	kāl	kahl
from before	יֹֽשְׁבֵ֥י	yōšĕbê	yoh-sheh-VAY
sore were we therefore you,	הָאָ֖רֶץ	hāʾāreṣ	ha-AH-rets
afraid	מִפְּנֵיכֶ֑ם	mippĕnêkem	mee-peh-nay-HEM
of our lives	וַנִּירָ֨א	wannîrāʾ	va-nee-RA
because	מְאֹ֤ד	mĕʾōd	meh-ODE
done have and you, of	לְנַפְשֹׁתֵ֙ינוּ֙	lĕnapšōtênû	leh-nahf-shoh-TAY-NOO
	מִפְּנֵיכֶ֔ם	mippĕnêkem	mee-peh-nay-HEM
