ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ, ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਣ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ, “ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਾਪੇਗਾ ਜੋ ਯਰੀਹੋ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਤੋਂ ਉਸਾਰੇਗਾ। ਉਹ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੀ ਬੁਨਿਆਦ ਰੱਖੇਗਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਗਵਾ ਲਵੇਗਾ। ਜੋ ਵੀ ਕੋਈ ਆਦਮੀ ਫ਼ਾਟਕ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਛੋਟੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਗਵਾ ਲਵੇਗਾ।”

ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ, ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਣ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ, “ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਾਪੇਗਾ ਜੋ ਯਰੀਹੋ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਤੋਂ ਉਸਾਰੇਗਾ। ਉਹ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੀ ਬੁਨਿਆਦ ਰੱਖੇਗਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਗਵਾ ਲਵੇਗਾ। ਜੋ ਵੀ ਕੋਈ ਆਦਮੀ ਫ਼ਾਟਕ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਛੋਟੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਗਵਾ ਲਵੇਗਾ।”

And Joshua adjured them at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before the LORD, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho: he shall lay the foundation thereof in his firstborn, and in his youngest son shall he set up the gates of it.
