ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੇ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਜਸੂਸਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ। ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਵੇਸਵਾ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਜਾਉ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਲਿਆਉ। ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਲਿਆਉ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹਨ। ਅਜਿਹਾ ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਕਰੋ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।”

ਇਹ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਦੀ ਹਰ ਸ਼ੈਅ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਹੈ। ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਵੇਸਵਾ ਰਾਹਾਬ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਬਚਣਗੇ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਨਾ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਰਾਹਾਬ ਨੇ ਦੋ ਜਸੂਸਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ।

ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, “ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਖੀ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਨਵਾਂ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਾਬਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਰ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ! ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਣਾਇਆ। ਪਰ ਇਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੇ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣਾ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਤੋੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਇਸ ਨਵੇਂ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮੇ ਨੂੰ ਅਣਡਿੱਠ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
Ezekiel 17:13
ਫ਼ੇਰ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਨੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਸਦੱਸ਼ ਨਾਲ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੇ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਨਾਲ ਵਫ਼ਾਦਾਰੀ ਦਾ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ। ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦਾ ਨਵਾਂ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਤਾਕਤਵਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ।
Psalm 15:4
ਉਹ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਆਂਢੀ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਅਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
2 Samuel 21:7
ਪਰ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਯੋਨਾਥਾਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਅ ਲਿਆ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਮਫ਼ੀਬੋਸ਼ਥ ਸੀ। ਯੋਨਾਥਾਨ ਸਾਊਲ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਯੋਨਾਥਾਨ ਅੱਗੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਸੌਂਹ ਖਾਧੀ ਸੀ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੋਟ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ।
2 Samuel 21:2
ਇਹ ਗਿਬਓਨੀ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੀ ਸੰਤਾਨ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ ਸਗੋਂ ਇਹ ਅਮੋਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਟੋਲਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਚਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਗਿਬਓਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੋਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਣਗੇ। ਪਰ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਨੇ ਗਿਬਓਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ। ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਨੇ ਇਉਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੀ ਗਹਿਰੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਕੀਤਾ। ਤਾਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਗਿਬਓਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਬੁਲਾਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਬਾਤ ਕੀਤੀ।
Joshua 9:18
ਪਰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਲੜਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਦਾ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।
Joshua 9:15
ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਦਾ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਰਾਜ਼ੀ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਛੱਡਣ ਲਈ ਮੰਨ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਵੀ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਸਹਿਮਤ ਹੋ ਗਏ।

ਯਰੀਹੋ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਸੂਸ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ, ਨੂਨ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਅਕਾਸੀਆ ਵਿਖੇ ਡੇਰਾ ਲਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੇ ਦੋ ਬੰਦਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਜਸੂਸਾਂ ਵਜੋਂ ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਘੱਲਿਆ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀ, ਖਾਸੱਕਰ ਯਰੀਹੋ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੀ ਜਸੂਸੀ ਕਰਨੀ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਬੰਦੇ ਰਾਹਾਬ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਵੇਸਵਾ ਦੇ ਘਰੇ ਠਹਿਰੇ।
