Daniel 5:6

ਇਹ ਗਿਬਓਨੀ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੀ ਸੰਤਾਨ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ ਸਗੋਂ ਇਹ ਅਮੋਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਟੋਲਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਚਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਗਿਬਓਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੋਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਣਗੇ। ਪਰ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਨੇ ਗਿਬਓਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ। ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਨੇ ਇਉਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੀ ਗਹਿਰੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਕੀਤਾ। ਤਾਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਗਿਬਓਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਬੁਲਾਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਬਾਤ ਕੀਤੀ।

“ਦੂਸਰੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਇਸ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਨਗੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਡਰ ਜਾਣਗੀਆਂ। ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀ ਲੋਕ ਡਰ ਨਾਲ ਕੰਬਣਗੇ।
Exodus 23:28
ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਅੱਗੇ-ਅੱਗੇ ਹਾਰਨੈਟ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਾਂਗਾ। ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਜਾ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ। ਹਿੱਵੀ ਲੋਕ, ਕਨਾਨੀ ਲੋਕ ਅਤੇ ਹਿੱਤੀ ਲੋਕ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਦੇਸ਼ ਛੱਡ ਜਾਣਗੇ।

ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਲੈ ਲਵੋਂਗੇ। ਇਹ ਜੰਗਲ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਰੁੱਖ ਕੱਟ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਰਹਿਣ ਲਈ ਚੰਗੀ ਥਾਂ ਬਣਾ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਹੋ। ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੋਵੋਂਗੇ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਨਾਨੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਦਿਉਂਗੇ। ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਾ ਦਿਉਂਗੇ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਤਾਕਤਵਰ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਹਨ।”

“ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਹੀ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਅੱਜ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਅਵੱਸ਼ ਚੋਣ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ। ਅੱਜ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰਨਾ ਪਵੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿਸਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ। ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਫ਼ਰਾਤ ਨਦੀ ਦੇ ਪਰਲੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ? ਜਾਂ ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਅਮੋਰੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਇਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ? ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਚੋਣ ਖੁਦ ਕਰਨੀ ਪਵੇਗੀ। ਪਰ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਤੱਕ ਮੇਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦਾ ਸੰਬੰਧ ਹੈ, ਅਸੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਾਂਗੇ!”

ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੀ ਕਨਾਨੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਲੜਾਈ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਦੇ ਦੇਹਾਂਤ ਤੋਂ ਮਗਰੋਂ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਸਾਡੇ ਕਿਹੜੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਜਾਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਕਨਾਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਲੜਨਗੇ?”

ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੰਜ ਹਾਕਮ, ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਕਨਾਨੀ ਲੋਕ, ਸੀਦੋਨ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਹਿੱਵੀ ਲੋਕ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਪਰਬਤ ਬਆਲ ਹਰਮੋਨ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਹਮਾਥ ਤੱਕ ਲਬਾਨੋਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਪਹਾੜੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ।

ਇਸ ਲਈ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਕਨਾਨ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਯਾਬੀਨ ਨੂੰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਇਜਾਜ਼ਤ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਯਾਬੀਨ ਹਸੋਰ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਸੀਸਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਰਾਜੇ ਯਾਬੀਨ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਦਾ ਕਮਾਂਡਰ ਸੀ। ਸੀਸਰਾ ਹਰੋਸ਼ਥ ਹਾਗੋਯਿਮ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਕਸਬੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ।
Genesis 10:15
ਕਨਾਨ, ਸੀਦੋਨ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੀ। ਸੀਦੋਨ, ਕਨਾਨ ਦਾ ਪਹਿਲੋਠਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ। ਕਨਾਨ ਹਿੱਤੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਹੇਥ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੀ।
