ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ੌਰਨ ਹੀ, ਪਾਣੀ ਵਗਣੋ ਰੁਕ ਗਿਆ। ਪਾਣੀ ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਵਾਂਗ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਪਾਣੀ ਨਦੀ ਦੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਵੱਲ ਦੂਰ ਤੀਕ ਉੱਚਾ ਉੱਠਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ-(ਸਾਰਥਾਨ ਦੇ ਕਸਬੇ) ਆਦਮ ਤੀਕ। ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਰੀਹੋ ਦੇ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕ ਨਦੀ ਪਾਰ ਕੀਤੀ।

Adam,	הָעִיר֙	hāʿîr	ha-EER

is beside	מִצַּ֣ד	miṣṣad	mee-TSAHD
Zaretan:	צָֽרְתָ֔ן	ṣārĕtān	tsa-reh-TAHN
down came that those and	וְהַיֹּֽרְדִ֗ים	wĕhayyōrĕdîm	veh-ha-yoh-reh-DEEM
toward	עַ֣ל	ʿal	al
the sea	יָ֧ם	yām	yahm
plain, the of	הָֽעֲרָבָ֛ה	hāʿărābâ	ha-uh-ra-VA
even the salt	יָם	yām	yahm
sea,	הַמֶּ֖לַח	hammelaḥ	ha-MEH-lahk
failed,	תַּ֣מּוּ	tammû	TA-moo
and were cut off:	נִכְרָ֑תוּ	nikrātû	neek-RA-too
