Joshua 3
1 ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਚਮਤਕਾਰ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਦਿਨ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਵੇਰੇ, ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਉੱਠੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼ੀਆ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਗਏ। ਉਹ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਵੱਲ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਾਰ ਜਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਉੱਥੇ ਡੇਰਾ ਲਾ ਲਿਆ।
2 ਤਿੰਨ ਦਿਨਾ ਮਗਰੋਂ, ਆਗੂ ਡੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਏ।
3 ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੁਸੀਂ, ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਜਾਂਦਿਆ ਦੇਖੋਂਗੇ। ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਲੱਗਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
4 ਪਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਨੇੜੇ ਹੋਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਿੱਛਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਤਕਰੀਬਨ 1,000 ਗਜ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਰਹਿਣਾ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉੱਥੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਗਏ। ਪਰ ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਿੱਛਾ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਕਿਧਰ ਜਾਣਾ ਹੈ।”
5 ਫ਼ੇਰ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਬਣਾ ਲਵੋ। ਕੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਦਰਮਿਆਨ ਇੱਕ ਮਹਾਨ ਕਰਿਸ਼ਮਾ ਕਰੇਗਾ।”
6 ਫ਼ੇਰ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੇ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮੇ ਦਾ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਚੁੱਕ ਲਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਨਦੀ ਦੇ ਪਾਰ ਜਾਵੋ।” ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਚੁੱਕ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਲੈ ਗਏ।
7 ਫ਼ੇਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਅੱਜ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਹਾਨ ਬੰਦਾ ਬਨਾਉਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਚੱਲ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਉਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮੈਂ ਮੂਸਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੀ।
8 ਜਾਜਕ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮੇ ਦਾ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਲੈ ਜਾਣਗੇ, ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਆਖ, ‘ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਦੇ ਕੰਢੇ ਤੱਕ ਤੁਰਕੇ ਜਾਣ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈਰ ਪਾਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਰਤਾ ਕੁ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਠਹਿਰ ਜਾਣ।’”
9 ਫ਼ੇਰ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਆਉ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦਾ ਨੂੰ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਣੋ।
10 ਇਹ ਇੱਕ ਸਬੂਤ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜਿਉਂਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣਾ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਸਫ਼ਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਉਹ ਕਨਾਨੀਆਂ, ਹਿੱਤੀਆਂ, ਹਿੱਵੀਆਂ, ਫ਼ਰਿੱਜ਼ੀਆਂ, ਗਿਰਗਾਸੀਆਂ, ਅਮੋਰੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਯਬੂਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਾ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਤੀ ਛੱਡ ਜਾਣ ਲਈ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।
11 ਇਹੀ ਇੱਕ ਸਬੂਤ ਹੈ। ਸਾਰੀ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮੇ ਦਾ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਰ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ।
12 ਹੁਣ ਬਾਰਾਂ ਆਦਮੀ ਚੁਣੋ। ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਹਰ ਇੱਕ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਸਮੂਹ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ-ਇੱਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਚੁਣੋ।
13 ਜਾਜਕ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਖਲ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਗਣੋ ਹਟ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਠਹਿਰ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਸਥਾਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਵਾਂਗ ਭਰ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।”
14 ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮੇ ਦਾ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਚੁੱਕ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਡੇਰੇ ਵਾਲੀ ਥਾਂ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਲੋਕ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਦੇ ਪਾਰ ਜਾਣੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
15 ਫ਼ਸਲ ਦੀ ਵਾਢੀ ਵੇਲੇ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਦੇ ਕੰਢਿਆਂ ਤੀਕ ਵਗਦੀ ਹੈ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਨਦੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਭਰੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ਉਹ ਨਦੀ ਦੇ ਕੰਢੇ ਆ ਗਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਨਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈਰ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
16 ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ੌਰਨ ਹੀ, ਪਾਣੀ ਵਗਣੋ ਰੁਕ ਗਿਆ। ਪਾਣੀ ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਵਾਂਗ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਪਾਣੀ ਨਦੀ ਦੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਵੱਲ ਦੂਰ ਤੀਕ ਉੱਚਾ ਉੱਠਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ-(ਸਾਰਥਾਨ ਦੇ ਕਸਬੇ) ਆਦਮ ਤੀਕ। ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਰੀਹੋ ਦੇ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕ ਨਦੀ ਪਾਰ ਕੀਤੀ।
17 ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਖੁਸ਼ਕ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਜਕ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮੇ ਦਾ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਚੁੱਕ ਕੇ ਨਦੀ ਦੇ ਅੱਧ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਲੈ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਰੁਕ ਗਏ। ਜਾਜਕ ਉੱਥੇ ਖਲੋ ਕੇ ਉਡੀਕਣ ਲੱਗੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਦੀ ਖੁਸ਼ਕ ਥਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ ਪਾਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
1 And Joshua rose early in the morning; and they removed from Shittim, and came to Jordan, he and all the children of Israel, and lodged there before they passed over.
2 And it came to pass after three days, that the officers went through the host;
3 And they commanded the people, saying, When ye see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, and the priests the Levites bearing it, then ye shall remove from your place, and go after it.
4 Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure: come not near unto it, that ye may know the way by which ye must go: for ye have not passed this way heretofore.
5 And Joshua said unto the people, Sanctify yourselves: for to morrow the Lord will do wonders among you.
6 And Joshua spake unto the priests, saying, Take up the ark of the covenant, and pass over before the people. And they took up the ark of the covenant, and went before the people.
7 And the Lord said unto Joshua, This day will I begin to magnify thee in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee.
8 And thou shalt command the priests that bear the ark of the covenant, saying, When ye are come to the brink of the water of Jordan, ye shall stand still in Jordan.
9 And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, Come hither, and hear the words of the Lord your God.
10 And Joshua said, Hereby ye shall know that the living God is among you, and that he will without fail drive out from before you the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Hivites, and the Perizzites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Jebusites.
11 Behold, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth passeth over before you into Jordan.
12 Now therefore take you twelve men out of the tribes of Israel, out of every tribe a man.
13 And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests that bear the ark of the Lord, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of Jordan, that the waters of Jordan shall be cut off from the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand upon an heap.
14 And it came to pass, when the people removed from their tents, to pass over Jordan, and the priests bearing the ark of the covenant before the people;
15 And as they that bare the ark were come unto Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bare the ark were dipped in the brim of the water, (for Jordan overfloweth all his banks all the time of harvest,)
16 That the waters which came down from above stood and rose up upon an heap very far from the city Adam, that is beside Zaretan: and those that came down toward the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, failed, and were cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho.
17 And the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the Lord stood firm on dry ground in the midst of Jordan, and all the Israelites passed over on dry ground, until all the people were passed clean over Jordan.
Job 20 in Tamil and English
1 तब नमाबाट आएका सोपरले जवाफ दिएः
Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,
2 “मेरा दोधारे विचारहरू मभित्रै संघर्ष गर्छन् तिमीहरूलाई उत्तर दिन म हतारिरहेको छु।
Therefore do my thoughts cause me to answer, and for this I make haste.
3 तिम्रो जवाफले हामीलाई अपमान गर्यो! तर म ज्ञानी छु, तिमीलाई कसरी जवाफ दिनु म जान्दछु।
I have heard the check of my reproach, and the spirit of my understanding causeth me to answer.
4 तिमी जान्दछौ कि एक दुष्ट मानिसको आनन्द लामो समयम्म टिक्दैन। त्यो पहिल्यै देखिको सत्य थियो।
Knowest thou not this of old, since man was placed upon earth,
5 आदमलाई पृथ्वीमा राखेको बेलादेखि नै त्यो सत्य थियो त्यो मानिस जसले परमेश्वरको बारेमा याद गर्दैन भने उसको खुशी छोटो अवधीको लागि मात्र हुन्छ।
That the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite but for a moment?
6 हुनसक्छ दुष्ट मानिसको घमण्ड आकाश माथि पुग्ला, अनि उसको शिरले बादलहरूलाई छोला।
Though his excellency mount up to the heavens, and his head reach unto the clouds;
7 तर उ सदाको लागि जानेछ, उसको आफ्नै शरीर सकिंदै गए जस्तो। मानिसहरू जसले उसलाई जान्दछ भन्नेछन्, ‘उ कहाँ छ?’
Yet he shall perish for ever like his own dung: they which have seen him shall say, Where is he?
8 उ सपना जस्तो उडेर जानेछ अनि कसैले पनि उसलाई फेरि भेट्टाउने छैन। नराम्रा सपना जस्तो उसलाई जबरजस्ती भुलिनेछ।
He shall fly away as a dream, and shall not be found: yea, he shall be chased away as a vision of the night.
9 मानिसहरू जसले उसलाई देखे अब फेरि देख्ने छैनन्। उसको परिवारले उसलाई फेरि कहिल्यै हेर्ने छैन।
The eye also which saw him shall see him no more; neither shall his place any more behold him.
10 दुष्ट मानिसका केटा-केटीहरूले फर्काइदिने छ जे थोक उनीहरूले गरीब मानिसहरूबाट लिएका थिए। त्यो दुष्ट मानिसको आफ्नै हातहरूले उसको सम्पत्ति फर्काई दिनुपर्नेछ।
His children shall seek to please the poor, and his hands shall restore their goods.
11 जब ऊ जवान थियो उसका हड्डीहरू बलिया थिए, तर, उसको शरीरका बाँकी भाग जस्तै तिनीहरू चाँडै नै फोहर मैलामा ढल्नेछ।
His bones are full of the sin of his youth, which shall lie down with him in the dust.
12 दुष्ट मानिसहरूको मुखमा खराबले मिठो स्वाद दिन्छ, यसर्थ उसले पूर्ण आनन्द लिनु त्यसलाई आफ्नो जिब्रो मनि राख्छ।
Though wickedness be sweet in his mouth, though he hide it under his tongue;
13 दुष्ट मानिसहरूले पाप लुट्दछ। उसले यसलाई फुत्काउन चाँहदैन। त्यो त्यस्तो मिठो मिश्री जस्तो हुँदछ उसले आफ्नो मुखमा चेपी राख्दछ।
Though he spare it, and forsake it not; but keep it still within his mouth:
14 तर त्यो दुष्टको पेटमा उसको भोजन विष हुन्छ। त्यो उसको पेटभित्र एउटा साँपको विष जस्तै तितो हुन्छ।
Yet his meat in his bowels is turned, it is the gall of asps within him.
15 दुष्ट मानिसले धनीहरूलाई निल्छ। तर त्यसले तिनीहरूलाई उल्टी गरेर निकाल्छ। परमेश्वरले पापी मानिसलाई उल्टी गरेर बाहिर निकाल्ने पार्नुहुन्छ।
He hath swallowed down riches, and he shall vomit them up again: God shall cast them out of his belly.
16 दुष्ट मानिसहरूको पेय पदार्थ साँपबाट निकालिएको विष झैं हो। तर साँपको जिब्रोले उसलाई मार्नेछ।
He shall suck the poison of asps: the viper’s tongue shall slay him.
17 तब पापी मानिसले मह र नौनी बग्दै गरेको नदीहरू देखेर पनि आनन्द उपभोग गर्नेछैन।
He shall not see the rivers, the floods, the brooks of honey and butter.
18 दुष्ट मानिसलाई उसले कमाएको नाफा जति फर्काई दिनलाई वाध्य गराईन्छ। उसले गरेको कामहरूमाथि उसलाई खुशी हुने अधिकार दिंइदैन्।
That which he laboured for shall he restore, and shall not swallow it down: according to his substance shall the restitution be, and he shall not rejoice therein.
19 किन? किनभने पापी मानिसले गरीब मानिसहरूलाई घात पार्दछ अनि गल्ती हिसाबले उसलाई जोख्दछ। उसले तिनीहरूको चिन्ता नै गरेन अनि उसले तिनीहरूका चीजबीचहरू लगिदियो। अरूले बनाएको घरहरू त्यसले खोसेर लगिदियो।
Because he hath oppressed and hath forsaken the poor; because he hath violently taken away an house which he builded not;
20 दुष्ट मानिस कहिले सन्तुष्ट हुँदैन। उसको धनले उसको रक्षा गर्न सक्तैन।
Surely he shall not feel quietness in his belly, he shall not save of that which he desired.
21 जब उसले खाँदछ, त्यहाँ केही पनि छाडदैन। उसले सफलता पाउने छैन।
There shall none of his meat be left; therefore shall no man look for his goods.
22 जब दुष्ट मानिसकहाँ प्रशस्त हुँदछ उसलाई संकटहरूले थिचेर राख्नेछ। उसको समस्याहरू उमाथि नै खनिन्छ।
In the fulness of his sufficiency he shall be in straits: every hand of the wicked shall come upon him.
23 जब दुष्ट मानिस आफूले चाहे जति सबै थोक खान्छ, ऊ परमेश्वरको क्रोधको लप्कोमा पर्दछ। परमेश्वरले त्यस दुष्ट माथि दण्ड वर्षाउनु हुनेछ।
When he is about to fill his belly, God shall cast the fury of his wrath upon him, and shall rain it upon him while he is eating.
24 हुनसक्छ फलामको तरवारदेखि त्यो दुष्ट मानिस भाग्ला। तर काँसको टुप्पा भएका काँढले त्सलाई ढाल्ने छ।
He shall flee from the iron weapon, and the bow of steel shall strike him through.
25 त्यो काँसाको काँढ जसरी भए पनि उसको शरीरमा वारपार भएर जाने नै छ, अनि उसको ढाँडबाट त्यो निस्कने छ। यसको टल्किने टुप्पाले उसको कलेजो छेड्नेछ, अनि ऊ त्रासले मुर्छा पर्नेछ।
It is drawn, and cometh out of the body; yea, the glittering sword cometh out of his gall: terrors are upon him.
26 उसका सारा धन सम्पत्ति नष्ट हुनेछ। आगोले उसलाई ध्वंश गर्ने छ जुन आगो मानिस तथा प्राणीले शुरू गरेको होइन्। आगोले उसका घरमा बाँकी रहेका सारा सामानहरूसम्म जलाएर खरानी बनाउँनेछ।
All darkness shall be hid in his secret places: a fire not blown shall consume him; it shall go ill with him that is left in his tabernacle.
27 दुष्ट मानिस दोषी हो भनी स्वर्गले प्रमाण गर्नेछ। पृथ्वी स्वंय त्यसको विरूद्ध उठ्नेछ।
The heaven shall reveal his iniquity; and the earth shall rise up against him.
28 उसको घरमा भएको सम्पूर्ण सामानहरू परमेश्वरलाई रीस उठेको दिन खोसिनेछ।
The increase of his house shall depart, and his goods shall flow away in the day of his wrath.
29 हो, त्यसरी नै परमेश्वरले दुष्ट मानिसहरूमाथि गर्नुहुनेछ। त्यसरी नै परमेश्वरको योजनाहरू तिनीहरूलाई दिनु हुनेछ।”
This is the portion of a wicked man from God, and the heritage appointed unto him by God.
