ਰਊਬੇਨ ਅਤੇ ਗਾਦ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਜਗਵੇਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਸਬੂਤ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੈ।”

ਫ਼ੇਰ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਇਹ ਪੱਥਰ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਅੱਜ ਆਖੀਆਂ। ਜਦੋਂ ਅੱਜ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਇਹ ਪੱਥਰ ਇੱਥੇ ਹੀ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਪੱਥਰ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਸ਼ੈਅ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਹਾਈ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ ਕਿ ਅੱਜ ਕੀ ਵਾਪਰਿਆ। ਇਹ ਪੱਥਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਇੱਕ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਇਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਰੋਕੇਗਾ।”

ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਲੋਕ ਮੇਰੇ ਗਵਾਹ ਹੋ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਸੇਵਕ ਹੋ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੈਂ ਚੋਣ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰ ਸੱਕੋ। ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਮਝ ਸੱਕੋਁ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਹਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਹੀ ਸੱਚਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹਾਂ। ਮੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ। ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
