Joshua 21:1

ਧੀਆਂ ਜਾਜਕ ਅਲਆਜ਼ਾਰ, ਨੂਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਕੋਲ ਗਈਆਂ। ਧੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਸਾਡੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇਵੇ।” ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਮੰਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਧੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਧਰਤੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਧੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਾਚਿਆਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਮਿਲੀ।

ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਧਰਤੀਆਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਭਿੰਨ-ਭਿੰਨ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ। ਜਾਜਕ ਅਲਆਜ਼ਾਰ, ਨੂਨ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਅਤੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਗੂ ਧਰਤੀ ਵੰਡਣ ਲਈ ਸ਼ੀਲੋਹ ਵਿਖੇ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ। ਉਹ ਮੰਡਲੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਤੰਬੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਉੱਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਵੰਡਣ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਮੁਕਾਇਆ।
