Jeremiah 52
1 ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦਾ ਪਤਨ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਉਦੋਂ 21ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਣਿਆ। ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ 11 ਸਾਲ ਰਾਜ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਸਦੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹਮੂਟਲ ਸੀ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਕਿ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਸੀ। ਹਮੂਤਲ ਦਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਲਿਬਨਾਹ ਕਸਬੇ ਦਾ ਸੀ।
2 ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੰਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਯਾਕੀਮ ਨੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਸੀ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਮੰਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਪਸੰਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ।
3 ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵਾਪਰੀਆਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਰਾਜ਼ ਸੀ। ਅੰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਨਜ਼ਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਬਗਾਵਤ ਕੀਤੀ।
4 ਇਸ ਲਈ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਦੀ ਹਕੂਮਤ ਦੇ ਨੌਵੇਂ ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਸਵੇਂ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੇ 10 ਵੇਂ ਦਿਨ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਨੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਉਸਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਸੀ। ਬਾਬਲ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਨੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਡੇਰਾ ਲਾ ਲਿਆ। ਫ਼ਿਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਦੀਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਢਾਲਾਂ ਬਣਾ ਲਈਆਂ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਕੰਧਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਸੱਕਣ।
5 ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਓਨਾ ਚਿਰ ਘੇਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਕਿ ਰਾਜੇ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਦਾ ਗਿਆਰ੍ਹਵਾਂ ਵਰ੍ਹਾ ਸੀ।
6 ਉਸ ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਚੌਬੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੇ 9ਵੇਂ ਦਿਨ ਤੱਕ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਬੁਰੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਸੀ। ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਖਾਣ ਲਈ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਬਚਿਆ।
7 ਉਸ ਦਿਨ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਨੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਉੱਤੇ ਧਾਵਾ ਬੋਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਫ਼ੌਜੀ ਭੱਜ ਗਏ। ਉਹ ਰਾਤ ਵੇਲੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ’ਚੋਂ ਨਿਕਲ ਗਏ। ਉਹ ਦੋ ਕੰਧਾਂ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰਲੇ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਿਕਲ ਗਏ। ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ਾ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਬਾਗ਼ ਨੇੜੇ ਸੀ। ਭਾਵੇਂ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਘੇਰਾ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਫ਼ੌਜੀ ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਭੱਜ ਗਏ। ਉਹ ਮਾਰੂਬਲ ਵੱਲ ਦੌੜ ਗਏ।
8 ਪਰ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਨੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਦਾ ਪਿੱਛਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਯਰੀਹੋ ਦੇ ਮੈਦਾਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਫ਼ੜ ਲਿਆ। ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਫ਼ੌਜੀ ਨੱਸ ਗਏ।
9 ਬਾਬਲ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਨੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ੜ ਲਿਆ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਕੋਲ ਰਿਬਲਾਹ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਲੈ ਗਏ। ਰਿਬਲਾਹ ਹਮਾਬ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੈ। ਰਿਬਲਾਹ ਵਿਖੇ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਬਾਰੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਸੁਣਾਇਆ।
10 ਉੱਥੇ ਰਿਬਲਾਹ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਤਲ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਕਤਲ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਦੇਖਣ ਲਈ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਰਾਜ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
11 ਫ਼ਿਰ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਕੱਢ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਂਬੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਜ਼ੰਜ਼ੀਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਫ਼ਿਰ ਉਹ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਬਲ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ। ਬਾਬਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਕੈਦਖਾਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੱਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਉਸ ਕੈਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਰਨ ਤੀਕ ਰਿਹਾ।
12 ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਖਾਸ ਦਸਤੇ ਦਾ ਕਮਾਂਡਰ ਨਬੂਜ਼ਰਦਾਨ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਇਆ। ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਰਾਜੇ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਉਨ੍ਨੀਵੇਂ ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਪੰਜਵੇਂ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੇ ਦਸਵੇਂ ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਹੈ। ਨਬੂਜ਼ਰਦਾਨ ਬਾਬਲ ਦਾ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਣ ਆਗੂ ਸੀ।
13 ਨਬੂਜ਼ਰਦਾਨ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਮੰਦਰ ਜਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜੇ ਦਾ ਮਹੱਲ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਘਰ ਵੀ ਸਾੜ ਦਿੱਤੇ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਰੂਸਲਮ ਦੀ ਹਰ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਣ ਇਮਾਰਤ ਸਾੜ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
14 ਬਾਬਲ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਨੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੰਧਾਂ ਤੋੜ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ। ਉਹ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਖਾਸ ਦਸਤੇ ਦੇ ਕਮਾਂਡਰ ਅਧੀਨ ਸੀ।
15 ਕਮਾਂਡਰ ਨਬੂਜ਼ਰਦਾਨ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਾਕੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਦੀ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਹਾਲੇ ਵੀ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨ। ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ ਜਿਂਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਆਤਮ ਸਮਰਪਣ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿ ਗਏ ਮਾਹਰ ਕਾਰੀਗਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ।
16 ਪਰ ਨਬੂਜ਼ਰਦਾਨ ਨੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਗ਼ਰੀਬ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਗੂਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਗ਼ੀਚਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਖੇਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
17 ਬਾਬਲ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਨੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਕਾਂਸੀ ਦੇ ਬਮਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੋੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੁਰਸੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਂਸੀ ਦੇ ਹੌਦ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਤੋੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨ। ਉਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਕਾਂਸੀ ਬਾਬਲ ਲੈ ਗਏ।
18 ਬਾਬਲ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇਹ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਵੀ ਲੈ ਗਈ: ਬਾਟੇ, ਕੜਛੇ, ਗੁਲਤਰਾਸ਼, ਕੌਲੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਂਸੀ ਦੇ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਭਾਂਡੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਸੀ।
19 ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਖਾਸ ਦਸਤੇ ਦਾ ਕਮਾਂਡਰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ: ਕਟੋਰੇ, ਅੰਗੀਠੀਆਂ, ਬਾਟੇ, ਵਲਟੋਹੇ, ਸ਼ਮਾਦਾਨ, ਕੌਲੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਟੋਰਦਾਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਪੀਣ ਦੀ ਭੇਟ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਸੋਨੇ ਅਤੇ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਦੀ ਬਣੀ ਹੋਈ ਹਰ ਚੀਜ਼ ਲੈ ਗਏ।
20 ਦੋ ਥੰਮ, ਵੱਡਾ ਹੌਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਰਾਂ ਚੋ ਕਾਂਸੀ ਦੇ ਝੋਟੇ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਭਾਰੀ ਕੁਰਸੀਆਂ। ਰਾਜੇ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਲਈ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਕਾਂਸੀ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਇਹ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਬਣੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਸਨ ਇੰਨੀ ਭਾਰੀ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਤੋਂਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਜਾ ਸੱਕਦੀ।
21 ਕਾਂਸੀ ਦਾ ਹਰ ਥੰਮ ਇੱਕਤ੍ਤੀ ਫੁੱਟ ਉੱਚਾ ਸੀ। ਹਰ ਥੰਮ ਇੱਕੀ ਫੁੱਟ ਘੇਰੇ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੀ। ਹਰ ਥੰਮ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਖੋਖਲਾ ਸੀ। ਹਰ ਥੰਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੰਧਾਂ ਤਿੰਨ ਇੰਚ ਮੋਟੀਆਂ ਸਨ।
22 ਹਰ ਬਮਲੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਣਿਆ ਕਾਂਸੀ ਦਾ ਕਲਸ 8ਫ਼ੁੱਟ ਲੰਮਾ ਸੀ। ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਕਲਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੁਫ਼ੇਰੇ ਜਾਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਨਾਰ ਸਭ ਕਾਂਸੀ ਦੇ ਬਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ। ਦੂਸਰੇ ਥੰਮ ਉੱਤੇ ਵੀ ਅਨਾਰ ਬਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ ਉਹ ਵੀ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਥੰਮ ਵਰਗਾ ਸੀ।
23 ਥੰਮਲਿਆਂ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਛਿਆਨਵੇ ਅਨਾਰ ਸਨ। ਕੁਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ ਸੌ ਅਨਾਰ ਜਾਲੀਦਾਰ ਬਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਕਿ ਬਮਲੇ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਜਾਲੀਦਾਰ ਨਕਾਸ਼ੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ।
24 ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਖਾਸ ਦਸਤੇ ਦੇ ਕਮਾਂਡਰ ਨੇ ਸਰਾਯਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਸਫ਼ਨਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਦੀ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ। ਸਰਾਯਾਹ ਵੱਡਾ ਜਾਜਕ ਸੀ। ਅਤੇ ਸਫ਼ਨਯਾਹ ਉਸਤੋਂ ਅਗਲਾ ਛੋਟਾ ਜਾਜਕ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਦਰਬਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ।
25 ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਖਾਸ ਦਸਤੇ ਦੇ ਕਮਾਂਡਰ ਨੇ ਲੜਾਕੂਆਂ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਫ਼ੜ ਲਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਸੱਤ ਸਲਾਹਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਬੰਦੀ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ। ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਹਾਲੇ ਵੀ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਮੁਣਸ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਫ਼ੜ ਲਿਆ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕਿ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਰਤੀ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਸੀ। ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਸੱਠ ਆਮ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਫ਼ੜ ਲਿਆ।
26 ਕਮਾਂਡਰ ਨਬੂਜ਼ਰਦਾਨ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ੜ ਲਿਆ। ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਕੋਲ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ। ਬਾਬਲ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਰਿਬਲਾਹ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ। ਰਿਬਲਾਹ ਹਮਾਬ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ। ਓੱਥੇ ਰਿਬਲਾਹ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਲਿਜਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ।
27 ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਬੰਦੀ ਬਣਾਏ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਹੈ: ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਦੇ ਸੱਤਵੇਂ ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ 3,023 ਬੰਦੇ ਫ਼ੜੇ ਗਏ।
28 ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਅੱਠਾਰ੍ਹਵੇਂ ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 832 ਬੰਦੇ ਫ਼ੜੇ ਗਏ।
29 ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਤੇਈਵੇਂ ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਬੂਜ਼ਰਦਾਨ ਨੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ 745 ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਦੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ। ਨਬੂਜ਼ਰਦਾਨ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਖਾਸ ਦਸਤੇ ਦਾ ਕਮਾਂਡਰ ਸੀ। ਕੁਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ 4,600 ਬੰਦੇ ਬੰਦੀ ਬਣਾਏ ਗਏ।
30 ਯੇਹੋਇਚਿਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਮਿਲੀ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਯੇਹੋਇਚਿਨ ਬਾਬਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੈਂਤੀ ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਕੈਦ ਰਿਹਾ। ਉਸਦੀ ਕੈਦ ਦੇ 37 ਵੇਂ ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਾਬਲ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਅਵੀਲ-ਮਰੋਦਕ ਯੇਹੋਇਚਿਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯੇਹੋਇਚਿਨ ਨੂੰ ਉਸੇ ਸਾਲ ਰਿਹਾਅ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਇਹ ਉਸੇ ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਅਵੀਲ-ਮਰੋਦਕ ਬਾਬਲ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਣਿਆ ਸੀ। ਅਵੀਲ-ਮਰੋਦਕ ਨੇ ਯੇਹੋਇਚਿਨ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਰ੍ਹਵੇਂ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੇ ਪੱਚੀਵੇਂ ਦਿਨ ਕੈਦ ਤੋਂ ਰਿਹਾਅ ਕੀਤਾ।
31 ਅਵੀਲ-ਮਰੋਦਕ ਨੇ ਯੇਹੋਇਚਿਨ ਨਾਲ ਖਾਸ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨੀ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯੇਹੋਇਚਿਨ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਧੇਰੇ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਦਾ ਰੁਤਬਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਬਾਬਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨ।
32 ਇਸ ਲਈ ਯੇਹੋਇਚਿਨ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੈਦ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਸਤਰ ਉਤਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ। ਆਪਣੀ ਬਾਕੀ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਕੇ ਭੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ।
33 ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਯੇਹੋਇਚਿਨ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਭੱਤਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਇਹ ਯੇਹੋਇਚਿਨ ਦੇ ਮਰਨ ਤੀਕ ਜਾਰੀ ਰਿਹਾ।
1 Zedekiah was one and twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.
2 And he did that which was evil in the eyes of the Lord, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.
3 For through the anger of the Lord it came to pass in Jerusalem and Judah, till he had cast them out from his presence, that Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.
4 And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came, he and all his army, against Jerusalem, and pitched against it, and built forts against it round about.
5 So the city was besieged unto the eleventh year of king Zedekiah.
6 And in the fourth month, in the ninth day of the month, the famine was sore in the city, so that there was no bread for the people of the land.
7 Then the city was broken up, and all the men of war fled, and went forth out of the city by night by the way of the gate between the two walls, which was by the king’s garden; (now the Chaldeans were by the city round about:) and they went by the way of the plain.
8 But the army of the Chaldeans pursued after the king, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho; and all his army was scattered from him.
9 Then they took the king, and carried him up unto the king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath; where he gave judgment upon him.
10 And the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes: he slew also all the princes of Judah in Riblah.
11 Then he put out the eyes of Zedekiah; and the king of Babylon bound him in chains, and carried him to Babylon, and put him in prison till the day of his death.
12 Now in the fifth month, in the tenth day of the month, which was the nineteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, came Nebuzar-adan, captain of the guard, which served the king of Babylon, into Jerusalem,
13 And burned the house of the Lord, and the king’s house; and all the houses of Jerusalem, and all the houses of the great men, burned he with fire:
14 And all the army of the Chaldeans, that were with the captain of the guard, brake down all the walls of Jerusalem round about.
15 Then Nebuzar-adan the captain of the guard carried away captive certain of the poor of the people, and the residue of the people that remained in the city, and those that fell away, that fell to the king of Babylon, and the rest of the multitude.
16 But Nebuzar-adan the captain of the guard left certain of the poor of the land for vinedressers and for husbandmen.
17 Also the pillars of brass that were in the house of the Lord, and the bases, and the brasen sea that was in the house of the Lord, the Chaldeans brake, and carried all the brass of them to Babylon.
18 The caldrons also, and the shovels, and the snuffers, and the bowls, and the spoons, and all the vessels of brass wherewith they ministered, took they away.
19 And the basons, and the firepans, and the bowls, and the caldrons, and the candlesticks, and the spoons, and the cups; that which was of gold in gold, and that which was of silver in silver, took the captain of the guard away.
20 The two pillars, one sea, and twelve brasen bulls that were under the bases, which king Solomon had made in the house of the Lord: the brass of all these vessels was without weight.
21 And concerning the pillars, the height of one pillar was eighteen cubits; and a fillet of twelve cubits did compass it; and the thickness thereof was four fingers: it was hollow.
22 And a chapiter of brass was upon it; and the height of one chapiter was five cubits, with network and pomegranates upon the chapiters round about, all of brass. The second pillar also and the pomegranates were like unto these.
23 And there were ninety and six pomegranates on a side; and all the pomegranates upon the network were an hundred round about.
24 And the captain of the guard took Seraiah the chief priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three keepers of the door:
25 He took also out of the city an eunuch, which had the charge of the men of war; and seven men of them that were near the king’s person, which were found in the city; and the principal scribe of the host, who mustered the people of the land; and threescore men of the people of the land, that were found in the midst of the city.
26 So Nebuzar-adan the captain of the guard took them, and brought them to the king of Babylon to Riblah.
27 And the king of Babylon smote them, and put them to death in Riblah in the land of Hamath. Thus Judah was carried away captive out of his own land.
28 This is the people whom Nebuchadrezzar carried away captive: in the seventh year three thousand Jews and three and twenty:
29 In the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar he carried away captive from Jerusalem eight hundred thirty and two persons:
30 In the three and twentieth year of Nebuchadrezzar Nebuzar-adan the captain of the guard carried away captive of the Jews seven hundred forty and five persons: all the persons were four thousand and six hundred.
31 And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, in the five and twentieth day of the month, that Evil-merodach king of Babylon in the first year of his reign lifted up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah, and brought him forth out of prison,
32 And spake kindly unto him, and set his throne above the throne of the kings that were with him in Babylon,
33 And changed his prison garments: and he did continually eat bread before him all the days of his life.
34 And for his diet, there was a continual diet given him of the king of Babylon, every day a portion until the day of his death, all the days of his life.

1 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਕਮ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਲਿਆ। ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਰਾਜੇ ਯੋਸ਼ੀਯਾਹ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ।
In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah came this word unto Jeremiah from the Lord, saying,
2 ਇਹ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ, ਡੰਡਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਰਸੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਜੂਲਾ ਬਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਗਰਦਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਰੱਖ।
Thus saith the Lord to me; Make thee bonds and yokes, and put them upon thy neck,
3 ਫ਼ੇਰ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਹਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਦੋਮ, ਮੋਆਬ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਮੋਨ, ਸੂਰ ਅਤੇ ਸੈਦਾ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਘੱਲ ਦੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਆਏ ਨੇ, ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ਵਾਹਕਾਂ ਹੱਥ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਭੇਜ।
And send them to the king of Edom, and to the king of Moab, and to the king of the Ammonites, and to the king of Tyrus, and to the king of Zidon, by the hand of the messengers which come to Jerusalem unto Zedekiah king of Judah;
4 ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ਵਾਹਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਲਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇਣ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖੀਂ, ‘ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਲਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖੋ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਵਸਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖ ਕਿ
And command them to say unto their masters, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Thus shall ye say unto your masters;
5 ਮੈਂ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਜਿਆ ਸੀ। ਮੈਂ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤਲੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਜਿਆ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁਝ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਤਾਕਤਵਰ ਹੱਥ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ। ਮੈਂ ਜਿਸ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਹਾਂ ਇਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are upon the ground, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and have given it unto whom it seemed meet unto me.
6 ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਜੰਗਲੀ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਵੀ ਉਸਦਾ ਆਗਿਆ ਪਾਲਨ ਕਰਾਵਾਂਗਾ।
And now have I given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant; and the beasts of the field have I given him also to serve him.
7 ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੋਤਰੇ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨਗੀਆਂ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਇੱਕ ਸਮਾਂ ਆਵੇਗਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਬਾਬਲ ਹਾਰ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਰਾਜੇ ਬਾਬਲ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਬਣਾ ਲੈਣਗੇ।
And all nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son’s son, until the very time of his land come: and then many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of him.
8 “‘ਪਰ ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਕੌਮ ਜਾਂ ਰਾਜ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜੂਲਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਗਰਦਨ ਤੇ ਪਾਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਕੌਮ ਨੂੰ ਤਲਵਾਰ, ਭੁੱਖ ਅਤੇ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਬਿਮਾਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ।’” ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹੈ। “‘ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਮੈਂ ਉਦੋਂ ਤੀਕ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੀਕ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਕੌਮ ਨੂੰ ਤਬਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ। ਮੈਂ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਉਸ ਕੌਮ ਨੂੰ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਲੜਦੀ ਹੈ।
And it shall come to pass, that the nation and kingdom which will not serve the same Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, and that will not put their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation will I punish, saith the Lord, with the sword, and with the famine, and with the pestilence, until I have consumed them by his hand.
9 ਇਸ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਨਾ ਸੁਣੋ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਨਾ ਸੁਣੋ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਜਾਦੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਨਾਲ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਬਾਣੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਸੁਣੋ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਆਖਦੇ ਨੇ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਸੁਪਨਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮੁਰਦਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਨੇ ਜਾਂ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਜਾਦੂ-ਟੂਣੇ ਕਰਦੇ ਨੇ। ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ, “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣੋਗੇ।”
Therefore hearken not ye to your prophets, nor to your diviners, nor to your dreamers, nor to your enchanters, nor to your sorcerers, which speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon:
10 ਪਰ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਝੂਠ ਬੋਲ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਵਤਨੋ ਦੂਰ ਲਿਜਾਣ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਣ ਬਣਨਗੇ। ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਛੱਡਣ ਲਈ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਰ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ। ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਰਾਏ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਕੇ ਮਰੋਗੇ।
For they prophesy a lie unto you, to remove you far from your land; and that I should drive you out, and ye should perish.
11 “‘ਪਰ ਉਹ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੀ ਅਧੀਨਗੀ ਕਬੂਲ ਕਰ ਲਈ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ ਉਹ ਜਿਉਣਗੀਆਂ। ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ।’ ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹੈ। ‘ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਸੇ ਦੀ ਖੇਤੀ ਕਰਨਗੇ।’”
But the nations that bring their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him, those will I let remain still in their own land, saith the Lord; and they shall till it, and dwell therein.
12 ਮੈਂ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਇਹੀ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਮੈਂ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ, “ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ, ਤੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਗਰਦਨ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਜੂਲੇ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਪਾ ਦੇਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਮੰਨਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੇਗਾ, ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਜੀਵੇਗਾ।
I spake also to Zedekiah king of Judah according to all these words, saying, Bring your necks under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him and his people, and live.
13 ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਂਨੇਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਦੀ ਤਲਵਾਰ, ਭੁੱਖ ਨਂਗ ਅਤੇ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਬਿਮਾਰੀਆਂ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਮਾਰੇ ਜਾਓਗੇ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵਾਪਰਨਗੀਆਂ।
Why will ye die, thou and thy people, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, as the Lord hath spoken against the nation that will not serve the king of Babylon?
14 ਪਰ ਝੂਠੇ ਨਬੀ ਆਖ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ: ‘ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੋਗੇ।’ “ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਨਾ ਸੁਣੋ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਝੂਠ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
Therefore hearken not unto the words of the prophets that speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon: for they prophesy a lie unto you.
15 ‘ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਭੇਜਿਆ।’ ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹੈ। ‘ਉਹ ਝੂਠ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਨੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਖ ਰਹੇ ਨੇ ਕਿ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਭੇਜ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮਰ ਜਾਵੋਗੇ। ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਨਬੀ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਵੀ ਮਰ ਜਾਣਗੇ।’”
For I have not sent them, saith the Lord, yet they prophesy a lie in my name; that I might drive you out, and that ye might perish, ye, and the prophets that prophesy unto you.
16 ਫ਼ੇਰ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ: ਉਹ ਝੂਠੇ ਨਬੀ ਆਖ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ‘ਬਾਬਲ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਚੁੱਕ ਲਈਆਂ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਛੇਤੀ ਵਾਪਸ ਲਿਆਂਦੀਆਂ ਜਾਣਗੀਆਂ।’ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਨਾ ਸੁਣੋ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਝੂਠ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਨੇ।
Also I spake to the priests and to all this people, saying, Thus saith the Lord; Hearken not to the words of your prophets that prophesy unto you, saying, Behold, the vessels of the Lord’s house shall now shortly be brought again from Babylon: for they prophesy a lie unto you.
17 ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਨਾ ਸੁਣੋ। ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੋ। ਆਪਣੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨ ਕਰ ਲਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਰਹੋਗੇ। ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਤਬਾਹ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਕਾਰਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
Hearken not unto them; serve the king of Babylon, and live: wherefore should this city be laid waste?
18 ਜੇ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਨਬੀ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਦਿਓ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਦਿਓ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਹਾਲੇ ਵੀ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਦਿਓ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਹਾਲੇ ਵੀ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਮਹਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਹਨ। ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਦਿਓ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਹਾਲੇ ਵੀ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਅੰਦਰ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਦਿਓ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਬਾਬਲ ਲਿਜਾਈਆਂ ਜਾਣ।”
But if they be prophets, and if the word of the Lord be with them, let them now make intercession to the Lord of hosts, that the vessels which are left in the house of the Lord, and in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem, go not to Babylon.
19 ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਇਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਹਾਲੇ ਵੀ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਚੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਹਨ। ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਮਲੇ ਹਨ, ਕਾਂਸੀ ਦਾ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ, ਹਿਲਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਟੈਁਡ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਹਨ। ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ।
For thus saith the Lord of hosts concerning the pillars, and concerning the sea, and concerning the bases, and concerning the residue of the vessels that remain in this city,
20 ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਉਦੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਗਿਆ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਯੇਹੋਇਆਚਿਨ ਨੂੰ ਕੈਦੀ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਯੇਹੋਇਆਚਿਨ ਰਾਜੇ ਯਹੋਯਾਕੀਮ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ। ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਕਈ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਣ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।
Which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took not, when he carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah from Jerusalem to Babylon, and all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem;
21 ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਹਾਲੇ ਵੀ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਮਹਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਹਾਲੇ ਵੀ ਰਹਿ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ।
Yea, thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, concerning the vessels that remain in the house of the Lord, and in the house of the king of Judah and of Jerusalem;
22 ਉਹ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਬਾਬਲ ਲਿਜਾਈਆਂ ਜਾਣਗੀਆਂ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੀਕ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਇੱਕ ਦਿਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਪਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਿਆਉਂਦਾ। ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹੈ। “ਫ਼ੇਰ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਪਸ ਲਿਆਵਾਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਥਾਂ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਰੱਖ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ।”
They shall be carried to Babylon, and there shall they be until the day that I visit them, saith the Lord; then will I bring them up, and restore them to this place.
