Jeremiah 42:15
ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਖੋਗੇ, ਤਾਂ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਬਾਕੀ ਬਚੇ ਲੋਕੋ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਸੁਣ ਲਵੋ। ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ: ‘ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਕੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਦਾ ਫ਼ੈਸਲਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵਾਪਰਨਗੀਆਂ।

Jeremiah 44:12
ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬੋੜੇ ਜਿਹੇ ਲੋਕ ਹੀ ਬਚੇ ਸਨ। ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਇੱਥੇ ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੋੜੇ ਜਿਹੇ ਬਚੇ ਹੋਏ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਉਹ ਜਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਕਤਲ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਜਾਂ ਭੁੱਖ ਨਾਲ ਮਰਨਗੇ। ਉਹ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਸ਼ੈਅ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਕਿ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਮੰਦਾ ਬੋਲਣਗੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਕੀ ਵਾਪਰਿਆ, ਹੋਰ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਇਸ ਗੱਲੋ ਭੈਭੀਤ ਹੋਣਗੀਆਂ। ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਸਰਾਪ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਬਣ ਜਾਣਗੇ। ਹੋਰ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਬੇਇੱਜ਼ਤੀ ਕਰਨਗੀਆਂ।
Jeremiah 42:17
ਹਰ ਉਹ ਬੰਦਾ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਕੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਦਾ ਫ਼ੈਸਲਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ, ਜਾਂ ਭੁੱਖ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਂ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਬਿਮਾਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਮਰੇਗਾ। ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਬੰਦਾ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਿਸਰ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਬਚੇਗਾ ਨਹੀਂ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਵੀ ਬੰਦਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਆਫ਼ਤਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਚ ਸੱਕੇਗਾ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਵਾਂਗਾ।’

ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਲਈਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਹਲੀ ਨਾਲ ਤੁਰ ਪਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਫ਼ਰਾਤ ਦਰਿਆ ਪਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਗਿਲਆਦ ਦੇ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵੱਲ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗੇ।

ਉੱਤਰੀ ਰਾਜਾ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਲੜਨ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਵਰਤਣ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰੇਗਾ। ਉਹ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਰਾਜੇ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਕਰੇਗਾ। ਉੱਤਰ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਧੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਰਾਜੇ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਾਦੀ ਕਰਨ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ। ਉੱਤਰੀ ਰਾਜਾ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਾ ਸੱਕੇ, ਪਰ ਇਹ ਯੋਜਨਾਵਾਂ ਸਫ਼ਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਣਗੀਆ। ਉਸਦੀਆਂ ਯੋਜਨਾਵਾਂ ਉਸਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਗੀਆਂ।
