Genesis 44:4
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੂਰ ਜਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ, ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨੌਕਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਜਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਿੱਛਾ ਕਰ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕ ਅਤੇ ਆਖ, ‘ਅਸੀਂ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਭਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ! ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਡਾ ਬੁਰਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ? ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਲਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਚੋਰੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ?

| follow | רְדֹ֖ף | rĕdōp | reh-DOFE |
| after | אַֽחֲרֵ֣י | ʾaḥărê | ah-huh-RAY |
| the men; | הָֽאֲנָשִׁ֑ים | hāʾănāšîm | ha-uh-na-SHEEM |
| overtake dost thou when and | וְהִשַּׂגְתָּם֙ | wĕhiśśagtām | veh-hee-sahɡ-TAHM |
| say them, | וְאָֽמַרְתָּ֣ | wĕʾāmartā | veh-ah-mahr-TA |
| unto | אֲלֵהֶ֔ם | ʾălēhem | uh-lay-HEM |
| them, Wherefore | לָ֛מָּה | lāmmâ | LA-ma |
| rewarded ye have | שִׁלַּמְתֶּ֥ם | šillamtem | shee-lahm-TEM |
| evil | רָעָ֖ה | rāʿâ | ra-AH |
| for | תַּ֥חַת | taḥat | TA-haht |
| good? | טוֹבָֽה׃ | ṭôbâ | toh-VA |
